Getting their lips tattooed may seem a bit scary and painful to some, but in reality it’s not bad at all.

💁🏻‍♀️I usually skip primary anaesthetic for the Lip Blush, because it can make your lip skin more stiff and difficult to implant color to. You would only have to tolerate lip outline without anaesthetic. After your skin is open I can use different numbing agent, that works amazing and minimised your pain and discomfort.

☝️The lower your pain tolerance, the more discomfort you might feel. However, some people may not feel pain at all. I often have clients falling asleep during Lip Blush procedure.

Because tattooing method for Lip Blush is much superficial than it is for Microblading, you would also feel much less discomfort.

I recommend avoiding ibuprofen, fish oil, and vitamin E 3 days before to reduce the possibility of bruising and bleeding.

✅It’s an enhancement
Lip tattoos are designed to enhance your natural lips, and to give the impression of fullness.

But a lip tattoo will not actually plump up your lips, so don’t expect a completely new look.

✅You can still use lipstick
Your new lip tattoo is designed to act as a beautiful base, but it doesn’t mean you should throw out your lipstick at all. You should never use lipstick during the healing process

✅The colour will fade
Because we use skin safe pigmentation in our permanent make up process, which is not the same as traditional tattoo inks, there is a certain degree of fading to be expected.

Your skin type is important when it comes to microblading. It plays a major role in how your microblading will heal and the rate at which it will fade.

There are four common skin types that you can have: normal, dry, oily, or combination.

We are going to be paying particular attention to the oily skin type since one of our most commonly asked questions is “can I get microblading done if I have oily skin?”

Oily skin is naturally more hydrated and supple. It tends to age very nicely however excess oil may clog pores more quickly. Very oily skin is also prone to larger pores.
Oily skin will heal the most soft. microbladed hair strokes will heal more powdery as opposed to the dry skin type for example who’s microblading will heal very crisp.

How oily your skin is will make a difference. Slight oiliness will heal more like normal skin, while extremely oily skin will heal much softer and the color will be more spread out. A well-trained microblading artist will place the strokes farther apart on a client with oily skin to minimize how much the hair strokes spread into each other once healed.

💁🏻‍♀️The answer is 👉🏻 technically it’s possible, but you should not be expecting crisp hair strokes, crisp healed results if you have oily skin.
For clients with oily skin and large pores we highly recommend powder brows because they will heal soft, nice and not like blur, how microblading will. Color will last longer. That’s why permanent powder eyebrows will be the best option.
