Emergency medical care And Lifestyle care are both essential and have Different roles to play in our lives.
Comparing one to the other is like comparing apples to oranges.
If you have heart disease and suffering from an attack refusing emergency allopathic medical care and opting for lifestyle or a holistic care at that moment could be fatal and certainly foolish.
However later after the emergency care if there is no lifestyle change or reduction of factors that was inflammatory for your body -( because it’s certainly your choice of diet and how you deal with stress that lead you to this moment) then you will end up with emergency care again and again.
This puts a lot of stress on the medical infrastructure / system of the country and Your body - continuously on survival mode instead of regeneration and healing.
You can lengthen your life through medications and/or surgeries and the accompanying side effects, plus the pain, stress, cost that come with it.
Or you can lengthen your life and quality of life through right diet, movement, good sleep, reducing toxins (found in food, perfume, beauty care, home care, bpa in your payment receipts-yes! 🤷🏽♀️ shoes - constant contact with skin… the list goes on) . Easier said then done, right ?

90 mins sivananda guided Hatha yoga practice after a year on Mrigarshirsha Amavasya. A time to go within, reflect and nurture the inner self.
I have been practicing nearly everyday but 15-20 mins only. Covid, grieving over my mother and somehow I let other things takeover.
How badly did I need this practice with its focus on the breath, savasana, pranayama, chanting and asana. It’s both grounding and also leaves me feeling lighter in my heart and body.
It’s this practice that lifted me from the depths of despair after Ishan came along and we didn’t know if he would survive or how we would cope with his challenges. How did I let this drop by this past year?
No matter what else is happening around you this focus on both mind and body is so cleansing and nurturing.
Back to the first lesson & maybe only lesson - ‘yoga Chitta vritti nirodha’.

Today is Vijaya dashami - Victory on the 10th day of Light over Darkness, an extremely auspicious day in the Hindu Calendar. It comes after 9 nights of the Goddess.
We chose this day as the day to immerse my Mother’s ashes in the lap of Mother Ganga. Reunited with my sisters and father to do this important ritual for her.

Most mainstream brands, the very big ones are only concerned about that profit margin not your health.
Why do we need petroleum based dyes with no nutritional value in our food?
Organic, farm to table and Home Cooked is a good way to spend your money now and save those dollars in future by avoiding medical bills.
This is not the food most of us in our 40’s ate growing up and our resilient bodies are showing signs of fatigue or disease now in our 40’s and 50’s if we have strayed to processed food over the past decade.
However our kids health are very different today from us because most of them are eating those Twinkie’s and G***fish biscuits and other processed food. The research is out there for anyone interested.
By the way these - these foods are created in such a way as to create addiction. The last pic is a WhatsApp message from a health coaching client whose teenage kid benefitted from the program with more energy and better mood. ❤️💚

Lord Krishna’s Birth Anniversary! 8th day of the New Moon.
A day that always takes me back a beautiful teaching from the Bhagavad Gita.
The Bhagavad Gita (Song of the Lord) dated around 200 BCE, contains 18 chapters and 200 verses. The teachings are in the framework of a dialogue between Lord Krishna and Prince Arjuna.
Among his teachings, NishKama Karma – Yoga of selfless Action was a defining moment during my yoga TTC and in my journey with Ishan.
karmaṇy-evādhikāras te mā phaleṣhu kadāchana
mā karma-phala-hetur bhūr mā te saṅgo ’stvakarmaṇi -Thy Concern Is With Action Done, Never With The Results. Let Not Thy Fruits Of Action Be Thy Motive; Neither Let There Be In Thee Any Attachment Of Inaction.
Yoga-Sthaḥ Kuru Karmāṇi Saṅgaṁ Tyaktvā Dhanañjaya
Siddhy-Asiddhyoḥ Samo Bhūtvā Samatvaṁ Yoga Uchyate -Steadfast In Devotion Do Thy Works, O Dhanamjaya, Casting Off Attachment, Being The Same In Success And Failure. Such Equanimity Is Called Yog.
Sri Krishna is not asking for renunciation of the world or actions. But rather to act and fulfil our duties without focussing on the results. Which is difficult to even think about.
At the time Ishan was 3 years old and not responding to therapies. I cannot explain how crushing it is as parents to put in all your hopes, efforts, money and energy and your child not responding. Sitting in that beautiful Yoga ashram in France for a month in the countryside focusing on my mind and body, this teaching hit me with a force! It made me accept my role as Ishan’s mother and to come to realize that Fred and I would always Do what we need to do for him, no matter how he responds.
And this is probably why he has responded so well to therapy and made so much progress.
We have no control over the future. Things can change any moment. What we have control over is our action in this moment. Our awareness and effort in this moment of being ! ❤️🙏🏽

A little introduction of myself as woman, mother, yoga teacher & health coach. I have more to me than being Ishan’s mother but playing the role of his mother has shaped me, changed & transformed me.
And this touches my work and how I interact with the world.
Exercise and Nutrition matter and it’s bio individual. There is no one size fit all. However if you don’t heal the heart and mind and are clear about your goals no amount of diet is going to work. This has been the main reason of this very special healing journey ❤️

Structure in life helps reduce the effects of stress. Stress, or rather the improper reaction to stress, creates new diseases and worsens pre-existent ones. Stress permits alien beings like viruses and cancerous cells to colonize new territories by impairing the immune system's ability to respond to invasion.
Stress occurs every time you have to adapt to a new solution. Every time your surroundings -change you must change along with them and develop a new equilibrium. Your Immunity is Your Resilience, your capacity to roll with the punches and snap back to normal after even the lowest of blows. As stress increases the strain on the immune system increases, when the strain becomes too great your immune system fails and you develop an illness.
Everyone is exposed to stress but we can improve our immunity. Your natural reaction to stress will be determined by your constitution. You will react as your genes instruct you to react unless you have conditioned the body to react differently. Specific patterns of Vata-Pitta-Kapha derangement must develop in order for specific diseases to manifest, but all patterns of derangement are due to weakness of immunity.
