MAGICAL spring skies over Westport last night

Sharing this precious little girl’s room in Westport with bunnies in tow! When I design a child’s room I always think of the longevity of the space and invest in the mainstays so that the furniture can change and evolve with the child over time. In this case we installed a gorgeous striped wallpaper by for , fleur de lis window treatments fabricated by the exceptional with fabric and trim by - and mixed those with furniture for a high low space perfect for the needs of our growing little clients.

Immaculate vibes Poolside in QATAR 🌴

I’m unsure what I expected Doha to feel like but it surprised me at every turn. I can’t wait to share this part of our trip with you because I cannot stop thinking about it and reliving it. I already can’t wait to go back.

Raise your hand if you have an awkward space in your home that you don’t know what to do with 🤚

For these wonderful clients, that space was right off the kitchen. The brief? Create a space where guests would want to have cocktails ✔️ children could play ✔️ and the parents could relax and watch a movie at the end of the day ✔️ ✔️

We did all of that and more with plenty of seating for guests (and statement pieces to elevate the space- do you see that 82 inch painting we sourced for the wall?!), hidden storage for toys, and a deep sofa with an upholstered ottoman (done in a bulletproof dark wool fabric) to put their feet up at the end of the day. I also used my favorite trick for delineating spaces where there is none- a tall console topped with teak lamps and gorgeous custom shades to boot, creating a clear separation of spaces and cleverly masking normal kitchen messes from guests.

For our clients- this space was about solving a number of real problems, as good design often is. The vibrant colors, the custom rug and pillows, the incredible art, the mix of cultural references in the pieces? That is what evokes JOY.

Delivering both is where the magic happens x

My favorite part of Dubai was, unsurprisingly, the arts and culture haven of AL SERKAL. A former warehouse district reimagined as a hub of art, fashion, concept shops, and factories.

IMAGINE New York’s meatpacking/Soho infused with Arabic architecture and local craftsmanship, where you can have bespoke Italian leather shoes made on site, shop everything from vibrant caftans to the latest children’s wear, have an espresso by a burbling fountain- minus the cars and noise, and you start to get an idea for how incredible this area is!!!

Too many incredible places to note but a few of my absolute favorites listed below:

1- The Year of Wilford Thesiger (and the gorgeous recreation of old Arabic houses!)

2- A fully operational, next level chocolate factory with hyper minimalist organic architecture and design by

3- A rainbow of caftans, pottery and other goods

Design spotlight: the awe inspiring beauty of . Architected by , the brief was to recreate an ancient Arabian Citadel inspired by Dubai’s heritage.

The result? A modern Arabic palace of epic proportions, where Islamic architecture- with its intricate geometric patterns, mathematical harmony, and craftsmanship - evoke the infinity of the divine. The abundant florals and tranquil waters within and around the property, alongside designer Khuan Chee’s exceptional vision, align to create a space that evokes total awe.

A testament to the enduring power of design to convey a sense of place and elevate the human experience to another plane entirely.

How do we even begin to describe the magic of Ramadan and Eid in the gulf!! An epic trip to Dubai and Doha with so much to share about it all- the incredible hospitality, the intoxicating scent of oud everywhere you walk; the magnificent food, the scene (we kept our kids up and past midnight every night!) , the SHOPPING (oh my God, the shopping), the warm water and cool breezes and chic people and gorgeous architecture (beyond imagination!), the innovative design and next level experiences. The Arab world as a cross roads of all civilizations and building the blueprint for the next modern cities. It’s a dream.
