A little life update…
As many of you know from my previous post, I was recently diagnosed with kidney cancer and will be undergoing surgery in two weeks. It has been a lot to process, and I’ve been taking things one day at a time. Because of this, I moved all of my upcoming wedding bookings to my incredibly talented second stylist and dear friend, Amy. She has been doing an absolutely amazing job.

Today, however, things didn’t quite go to plan. Amy’s apprentice had an unfortunate accident and wasn’t able to help her with a big wedding she had booked. Early this morning I received a phone call from Amy asking if I might be able to step in and give her a hand.
I honestly felt like it was the universe telling me to get up, stop sitting in the sadness for a moment, and do something that I truly love. So I packed my kit, headed out the door, and spent the morning working alongside Amy.
And it was exactly what I needed.
Being surrounded by such a beautiful family getting ready for such a special day was incredibly uplifting. There was so much love, happiness, and excitement in the room — the perfect reminder of why I love what I do so much.

I wanted to share a personal update and explain why I won’t be able to do hair for a while.
Life feels in limbo right now as I’ve recently been diagnosed with kidney cancer. It’s still very new, and I’ve had multiple tests over the past few weeks — including three CT scans and an ultrasound — and I have an MRI booked this Wednesday. The positive news (which I’m so incredibly grateful for) is that so far it hasn’t spread.
After meeting with my specialist, the plan is to remove my whole kidney. Recovery will be around 6 weeks, although I’m not yet sure when my surgery date will be. As you can imagine, it’s a lot to process 😩
The hardest part of all of this is stepping away from my new business.
I’ve spoken in depth with Amy, my second stylist from Hair In Bloom Wodonga on 0467609751, and she will be taking over all of my bridal bookings.
Thank you for your patience, kindness and understanding during this time. Your support truly means more than I can say.
