I did my first weight training session yesterday in about 18 months!!! 🤪 Man it felt great! Fortunately I wasn’t as weak as I’d expected I might be! 🏋🏼‍♀️💪🏼

Followed it up with a private pilates reformer session this morning with the amazing . About my 7th session now I think. Slowly getting better at that - very out of my comfort zone that’s for sure!!!

Needless to say my muscles are feeling it all tonight haha 😩🤣

And how cute is my new exercising avocados towel from !!! 🥑🏋🏼‍♀️ I have matching Pilates grip socks too haha I love them!!! 😍💙

I cannot rave more about the amazing products by .scalpcare which I truly believe has saved my hair!!! They have prebiotics in them for scalp health - who knew that was a thing 🤷🏼‍♀️

Earlier this year I lost almost half my hair. I cried 😭 I have always had thin hair, so to have half of it fall out was devastating!

When I left Brisbane end of Nov last year my hair was the healthiest & thickest it had ever been. I sent the first pictures from 8 Jun to my hairdresser of over 20 yrs and she couldn’t believe what she was seeing.

The last few years I started suffering with psoriasis on my scalp which I put down to heat & sweat working outside wearing a hat mowing lawns in hubby’s business.

Moving to the Whitsundays in summer was next level crazy heat & humidity but I don’t think this was the reason for my major hair loss.

I think the biggest factor was stress, the second biggest factor is the increased exposure to chlorine on my scalp with not having my Anespa shower unit that eliminates chlorine, whilst we are temporarily living with family.

We currently have no home of our own, I didn’t work for 8 mths and I had major surgery booked for mid May (elective hysterectomy). I was excited for my surgery & to finally be pain free, but I know now my body was stressing about it more than I realised.

In April i started trying various products to help my psoriasis but my hair loss kept getting worse.

Then one day this miracle product popped up in my insta feed! I read the article about the Australian founder landing a major retail detail with just weeks after launching. I read many reviews on their instagram & decided i needed to try this product!

I bought the whole bundle called The Routine which comprised scalp scrub, shampoo, conditioner, scalp massage brush, detangler comb, scalp serum & microfibre hair towel.

These photos are taken 12 wks ago, 8 wks ago & Friday just gone.

I am so over the moon with the results and highly recommend these products to anyone with scalp issues!

No swimming today lol … it appears my shoulders are suffering a good case of DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) 🤣😱

Unsurprisingly after such a big break from physical exertion haha!

We had a “frolick” in the pool this arvo to cool off - back to serious business tomorrow 🤣

So today’s first swimming attempt was a success haha … I didn’t die 🤣🤪 I managed 10 laps - 500m (even though the watch says 11 laps - that was prob all my rest time between lengths 🤣).

The new combo was a win - hard to tell I like blue isn’t it!!! 😉🤣💙

I was excited to learn I can swim with my Apple Watch - it’s amazing the data it picked up! Even if some details were slightly out - but close though ☺️

Will be interesting to see how quickly I can get back up to speed!

Tomorrow is making a come back!!! Turns out 2022 was a fu**er of a year!!! 😱😱😭😭 I’m glad to see the back of it!

But permanent changes have been made - we sold our townhouse in Brisbane - moved up to the Whitsundays end of November 2022! 😎🌴

To date I’ve had 44 days off work - it doesn’t even feel that long. I’ve done sweet FA in that time and it’s felt great!! I finally feel refreshed!

After 4 yrs of working 2 jobs, 7 days a week - I no longer snore horrifically each night. It seems that was an effect of chronic fatigue 😴

But today I went out & bought new Speedo swimmers, goggles & cap … tomorrow I’m gonna get back into swimming. The last time I did swimming for fitness would have been 2009 when I was applying for the Army 🏊🏻‍♀️

The local Council has a 50m swimming pool which you can utilise for free which is pretty cool.

I’ve unsurprisingly put back on all the weight I lost last year … so now is the time to get fit & healthy again! I had a casual hit of tennis yesterday & really felt it - sure it was middle of the day heat - but I need to get that fitness back again!

I’m also gonna set up the gym properly in our garage so it’s fully functional.

Watch this space … this is gonna be the best year yet!!! 💪🏼☺️

Celebrating my first big milestone goal today!!! 🎉

I hit my pre-wedding weight today - 100g lighter than the day we flew out to Vanuatu for our wedding in 2018.

It was also my finishing weight from an 8 week challenge I ran in Oct-Nov 2020.

But I’m not finishing … I’ve only just started!!! ☺️💪🏼

It’s the lightest I’ve been since Nov 2015 (I was 1kg lighter) and before that Nov 2013 (I was 7.5kg lighter than now - not sure that’s realistic nowadays though!) 🙈🤪

My goals are certainly not all weight related … but as I’m a shorty (161cm, 5ft 3) my frame is not meant to carry the amount of weight I’ve been carrying around, nor is it in the healthy range 😔

🌀 FULL PROGRESS REPORT 🌀

I was going to report on my first 4 weeks, however firstly I was crazy busy & didn’t get it done, secondly it was the start of my period and therefore results just weren’t reflective with weight gain, bloating, water retention etc – urgh the joys! 🙄

My fitness testing results were done after 4 weeks. Pretty happy with them seeing I haven’t done anywhere near as my weight trains or circuits as I had planned to! 🏋🏼‍♀️🙈

The push ups, squats & sit ups are as many as I can do in 1 minute. Push ups are on knees at this stage as my shoulder injury can’t cope with toes, and to be fair I’d probably be lucky to get 5 or 6 out - if that haha and the depth would be total rubbish! 😂

The rower is just as fast as you can for 500m. The rower can be really tough to beat your time so happy with knocking off 10 seconds! 🚣🏼‍♀️

3kg down so far 👏🏼💪🏼 I weigh myself everyday to see patterns and it’s certainly not just a downwards curve ⚖️ It’s all dependent on time of day, exercise, food & water intake, hormones etc. Food is pretty good majority of the time, although I’ve had a few sneaky little easter eggs lately! 🍫🐣 Alcohol intake could certainly be much better! 🍷😱

20cm overall loss in tape measures (over 7 sites). Pretty happy with that. Given I carry my weight from my chest to my butt/hips (especially stomach) – really happy to see that’s where the decent drops have come from. I can really notice it in my clothes too! There’s no arm reading as it’s just too hard to do on own and be consistent!

Let’s see what the next 4 weeks brings! 🤗🏋🏼‍♀️💪🏼⚖️

YASSSS!!! 💪🏼 I have a shoulder injury (rotator cuff) from lawn mowing - this is the first time in 4wks I’ve done this exercise with NO PAIN at all in all 3 sets 🎉

It’s only 15.5kg but that’s the heaviest I’ve done so far - 3 sets of 10 reps today.

Yay getting stronger every day!!! 👏🏼☺️

Self care for the win tonight. Some time out 💞🛁

My overworked body was feeling more sore than usual … 🤪 so I decided a bath with my Muscle Soak Salts was in order!

Normally I’d enjoy a glass of vino 🍷 with my bath … but today is an alcohol free night! 🤪 … I survived and my bath was still amazing haha! 🤣🤗

My goal is to complete 2 cardio circuits of some sort each week to improve my fitness & help with fat loss.

After a day of gardening & mowing and being a Sunday evening I was SO close to not doing it! 🙈

But … I didn’t want to let myself down. I knew I could easily come up with a workout to do in my lounge room that didn’t require equipment.

So I did it! 20 mins non-stop. Yay me haha!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼😁

Man this is yum & really filling!!! This is my meal 2 as meal 1 was a smoothie at 5am before work. And I was starving after my weight train!!!

365 calories (1533 kj for those that use this measurement)
27g protein
29.3g carbs (6.6g sugar)
15.5g fat (5.5g saturated)

I am a big ketchup fan if you happened to notice that under the egg 😉 all measured & included in my calories of course 😁

Will keep me energised for a few hours mowing lawns 🙄🤣
