There’s something inexplicably soothing about those lazy mornings spent nestled under the covers, my dog curled beside me. The world feels paused — no alarms, no obligations, just a quiet comfort shared between two souls. His gentle breathing rises and falls in rhythm with mine, a subtle reminder that we’re safe, here together.

Sometimes, as I drift in and out of sleep, I catch the faint scent of his paws. It’s strangely endearing, like a mixture of warmth and earth, reminiscent of sun-baked grass or popcorn. It’s a little quirk that always makes me smile. His paws are slightly rough to the touch but perfect, like tiny, well-worn pillows that have explored the world but always return to this haven beside me.

In these moments, wrapped up in his presence, it feels as if time bends, offering a kind of therapy that no words or medications can replicate. The weight of his body against mine, his quiet loyalty, and the peace of knowing we are enough for each other — it’s all a balm for the chaos life so often brings.

And so, I let the morning stretch on, savoring the stillness and his familiar, comforting scent. These simple moments, rich in love and paw-smell, are the best kind of therapy.
