To all my clients, I'm looking into ordering in and stocking some cloud 9 straighteners. I have used GHD for years, but after trying the Cloud 9, im finding their straighteners a cut about the rest of the other irons out there at present. Could you let me know if you are in the market for a new straightener and would be interested in purchasing one. Hair Tip #2 - Dry Hair

Winter is around us, and this generally means dry skin and hair. Here are some tips to keep your ends in great shape through the dry months.

* Get regular hair trims every 6-8 weeks to trim off the spilt ends

* Cut back on blow drying

* When blow-drying, force the air in he direction of your hair growth so you don't disturb the cuticle anymore then you have to.

* Use Boars hair brushes. These distribute oils better throughout the hair, down the hair shaft.

* Use daily conditioners and even better, use a leave-in conditioner as well

* Rinse with cool water as your final rinse to close the cuticle and prevent further damage.

* Avoid shampoos that are clear in color. These shampoos are refereed to as plain shampoos. Plain shampoos contain little to no moisturizer. Opt for a pearlized one that is made for dry, damaged hair. Shampoos can do a world of damage!!! Opt to buy a good moisturizing shampoo.

* Keep use of heating products to a minimum if possible. And always use a styling product that specifically protect hair during heat process.

*Deep condition at least 2 times a week. Apply the conditioner to clean, damp hair. Put a shower cap on and hit it with the blow dryer. This will open up the cuticle and condition your hair better.

And remember, Fixing dry hair overnight is not going to happen. It's going to take a hair care regiment, commitment on your part, and most of all time :)

HAIR TIP #1 - GREASY HAIR

Try to avoid daily washing. The sebaceous glands are overstimulated, secreting more grease onto the hair. This creates a vicious circle where the more you wash is the greasier it becomes.

Another problem with regular washing is that although the roots are greasy the rest of your hair is stripped of oil and the ends become dry and brittle. Before washing, be sure to brush from roots to ends, to allow these nutrients to spread throughout the rest of the hair. Use a mild ph-balanced shampoo and wash hair without rubbing the scalp too much. Only apply conditioner to the mid and ends rather than at the roots.
