Our Story
A bit about me, my name is Elise and I have been creating dreadlocks for over 12 years. I am self taught through many many heads of dreads done, including my own several times.
In the beginning I dabbled with all kinds of methods to create dreadlocks, with some terrifying results as well as some great ones! I've found the best method for beginning new dreads and maintaining already established dreadlocks is the crochet method, and this is the only method I use. I will not even back-comb, so you will not lose any length in your hair that you've spent years growing.
I love what I do and I take pride in my work. I have a great eye for detail and am able to help you create the look that you want. I use no chemicals, wax, glues, bands or cotton. The only tool I use is a small crochet hook.
I prefer well maintained, tight and smooth dreads, so generally that is the look I try to achieve.
Appointments are done in my own home in Holt, Canberra. Tea and coffee is available for you any time. I also have a range of CDs and DVDs (or the internet and free wi-fi) to keep you entertained if you are here for a long time. You are more then welcome to bring your own music or DVDs if you wish, I am also child friendly as I have one of my own. Mobile appointments may be available depending on time and day - you'll have to ask me!
