Beauty In Stillness - Reconnecting To Self
This is where true beauty lies, it is within us all if we can just stop for a moment and listen, pay attention to our deeper knowing and allowing it to come forth. This can be challenging for many of us as we can so easily get caught up in the external world of what we should do, don’t do, be like or look like, a world of comparison and competition.
This creates more stress and we all know stress is not going to rejuvenate you instead it will age you.
It’s time to honour your self, be kind to yourself and allow yourself to rediscover who you truly are through self-awareness, self acceptance and learning to care and love your inner being with a full heart and gratitude.
Being in midlife is a new season of being. For many of us it comes with different challenges or changes, I am sure everyone has their own experiences. Learning to be grateful with a loving heart allows challenges or changes to be revealed rather as opportunity to grow and expand our self awareness, trusting and allowing it to guide us into a deeper self awareness.
Neuroscience has proven that our thoughts, emotions and environment can affect our skin health and appearance and either accelerate aging or rejuvenate us.
How often do you press PAUSE, and take a moment to let go and just be. It could be as simple as just sitting under a quiet tree, and just be present.
Being in midlife is even more important to look after ourselves taking regular time out to rejuvenate our entire being, body, skin and spirit and become aware of our internal self at our core. Learning to let go of external noise - practice being present that is where you will find yourself and your radiance.

Building Foundational Beauty and Longevity With Intention and Self Awareness
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Kidney organ channel stores our “Jing” our “vitality” and it is the foundation and structure of your being, our glow and our aging journey.
Our vitality is reflected through our emotional and physical wellbeing. Think about it, how do you feel when you are happy or filled with gratitude and love. Your eyes sparkle and you reflect a sense of joy in your demeanour and appearance.
Compare that to when life gets you down, your stressed or feel stuck not doing what you love.
How we deal with life situations, lifestyle or habits that fester depletes or blocks our inner energy.
The kidney meridian channel in TCM is where our “Vitality” is stored, the kidneys and adrenals are related and when out of balance due to emotional stress or fear it reflects under the eye area.
When emotions built up over time, we become so used to it that it feels like that is how life just is.
I invite you to take a moment in stillness to go within and reconnect with yourself. Ask yourself some hard questions.
- Are you taking time to find balance in your life
- Where does rest and repair fit into your schedule?
- Firing on all cylinders all the time leads to burnout, increased stress and hormonal imbalance. (not good news for your skin and eyes)
What steps can you take to create more balance in your day for your own wellbeing.
What can you change or introduce to invite more time for intentional stillness to reconnect with who you are.
It maybe as simple as just sitting quietly under a tree, being present, taking in the beauty of nature around you, listening to the birds.
Join me on a journey of self discovery, prioritising inner peace and balance. Through stillness we can hear our inner voice, the nudge, listen to our intuition but it requires the willingness to explore our self.
Pause ~ quiet the mind, reduce the pressure of stress to achieve or do …

Make time to find and reset yourself move into a deep state of rest and repair thats where you release what doesn’t serve you and find your flow.
It will support and renew every cell from the inside out, your skin will receive the nourishment it deserves and your radiance will shine through. Your mind will be more clear as all the mental noise slipped away , leaving you overall refreshed.
Why Pausing Matters :
🌿 Release Pressure: You do not need to have everything figured out immediately or all the time, often good things are right in front of you and cannot be seen as your focus is honed in on searching, finding or achieving.. just let it go
🌿 Mental Clarity: Stepping away from the “hustle of life” allows you to return with renewed focus and a calmer, more creative perspective.
🌿Presence: where the magic happens, it is the opportunity to appreciate the present moment with gratitude rather than focusing on to-do lists
🌿 Physical Release: being present, letting go and breathing deeply is when your shoulders start to soften, your jaw is relaxing, your muscles and spine is releasing sinking into the bed feeling supported. Just embrace the moment of freedom

The lungs are the “alchemist”, the ruler of the body, skin and hair, it turns breath into Qi, life force energy.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) the lungs are also the “advisor” to the emperor “the Heart”. It runs and maintains order in the body and skin.
- it supplies “Qi” and oxygen to skin and every tissue and organ in the body.
- helps regulate our nervous system & emotions
- it’s the keeper of boundaries, so is the skin, protecting the inner organs.
- the skin is often called the 3rd lung
- it also manages the “letting go” of emotions that can easily get stored in the lungs as disease or in the face as premature aging
The lungs are the bridge between mind and spirit..
That is why introducing Qigong practice is so helpful in releasing stored emotion, as it helps circulate energy through the body. In TCM the lungs are connected to emotions of grief, sorrow and sadness. It manifests in the skin on the face in the lower cheeks.
