Things I won’t tolerate in 2026 as a Pelvic Health Physio 👏

• A 6-week postpartum check that doesn’t include pelvic floor assessment or education
→ Research shows many women experience ongoing pelvic floor symptoms postpartum, and early identification improves long-term outcomes.

• Pelvic health concerns being treated as minor or not worth investigating
→ Pelvic pain and dysfunction are common, but often under-reported and under-diagnosed, leading to delayed care.

• Leaking being dismissed as “normal” and unavoidable
→ Urinary incontinence is common, but it is not “normal” and is often treatable with appropriate assessment and management.

Evidence-based care, delivered in a space that feels like home ✨

Research shows that anxiety in clinical settings can increase muscle tension and alter pelvic floor activation patterns, which may affect assessment accuracy and a person’s ability to engage their core and pelvic floor effectively.

By creating a calm, private, and supportive environment rather than a sterile clinical feel I help clients feel more relaxed, safe, and able to engage more naturally during assessment.

Better relaxation → more accurate assessment → more informed treatment outcomes 🤍

Why choose Boutique Pelvic Health?

For me, Boutique Pelvic Health started with a simple belief that every woman deserves to feel heard, safe, and empowered in her own body ❤️

Too often in clinical spaces, I saw pelvic health concerns reduced to a symptom or a quick fix. I knew there needed to be more than that.

I wanted to create a space where care is slower, more intentional, and truly whole-person focused where your story matters just as much as your symptoms.

Pelvic health isn’t just physical. It’s deeply personal. And it deserves to be treated that way.

Thank you for trusting me to be part of your care journey 🤍

🥶 Winter Bladder: Why Do You P*e More When It's Cold?

Ever noticed you're running to the loo more often during winter? You're not imagining it 👀

One reason may be a normal body response called cold-induced diuresis. Even during a mild Australian winter, cooler temperatures can cause blood vessels to narrow to help keep you warm. This shifts more blood towards your core, and your kidneys may respond by producing more urine.

Of course, it's not the only reason bladder symptoms can flare in winter. Changes in fluid intake, lower activity levels, coughs and colds, and increased pelvic floor sensitivity can all play a role too.

The good news? Your pelvic floor plays an important role in supporting bladder control and managing urgency, and there are simple strategies that can help keep your bladder calmer throughout winter.

👉 Swipe through for practical tips to support your bladder health this winter. 💙

At Boutique Pelvic Health, we help women and men manage bladder, bowel and pelvic floor concerns with evidence-based physiotherapy and personalised care.

As Pelvic Pain Awareness Month wraps up, here’s a reminder many women are surprised to learn 🤍

Pelvic floor physiotherapy is often a first-line conservative treatment for a range of pelvic health conditions, including:
• Urinary incontinence
• Pelvic organ prolapse
• Pelvic pain
• Postpartum pelvic floor dysfunction

Research shows pelvic floor muscle training can significantly improve symptoms and quality of life for many women — especially when individualised and started early.

Early support can make a meaningful difference ✨ What was your biggest “aha” moment about pelvic health or pelvic pain this month?

Endometriosis management is rarely about one treatment alone 🤍

Research supports a multidisciplinary approach, including medical care, pelvic health physiotherapy, and pain management strategies working together.
Working collaboratively with GPs, gynaecologists, and allied health professionals helps ensure more comprehensive, individualised care.
