Yep this doesn’t really have anything to do with hair but when was the last time you stopped?

Think about it how long do we spend scrolling and then all of a sudden 💥 your 1hr into just sitting in a blank space… That’s stopping and having a break right? Is it really stopping.

I’m guilty for it 1000% but I’ve also started to realise that I can be productive but still stop. Not scrolling not reading not doing anything just stopping and breathing. Becoming comfortable with being in my own presence.

This year I set myself the task of seeing 50 sunrises! Hopefully more but it also made me realise that it’s not just giving myself the chance to watch 50 sunrises it’s giving me the chance to stop!

In such a high pace industry like hairdressing it’s hard to stop! We are go go go 24/7 standing all day, thinking about colour formulas, what clients we have coming in this week, having conversation after conversation (all things I love about the job) But when do we stop… for sleep or when we’ve pushed ourselves to the max and burn out. This isn’t just for hairdresser either there are many industries out there where we do this.

It’s really okay to sit and pause for a moment.

Set a goal and make it happen.. big or small. Some days it won’t happen but at least you’ll learn no matter what sort of day you’re having you have the chance to stop and just breathe. Whether it be having your lunch break in a park or somewhere you can connect with nature a little. Whether it be just sitting and watching the birds fly by little tiny moments that we take for granted cause we are too busy in the hustle.

All that being said I hope this was a little insight to my beliefs/ feelings. I hope I got to help someone today 🫶🏼
