There is a moment on almost every wedding morning where the excitement goes quiet.

Usually about an hour before it’s time to leave.

The hair and makeup are finished, the dress is hanging up ready to go, and suddenly the reality of the day hits.

Brides who have been completely calm all morning become quiet.

They start second-guessing things.

The weather.
The timeline.
The seating plan.
The flowers.
The dress.
Themselves.

As a bridal makeup artist, I’ve seen this moment hundreds of times, and I always remind my brides of the same thing:

You have done the planning.
You have made the decisions.
You have chosen your person.

Now it’s time to trust yourself.

And then comes my favourite part...

The moment she sees herself fully ready.

Not because makeup magically fixes nerves, but because she finally gets to see what everyone else sees.

A beautiful bride who is ready to walk down the aisle and marry the love of her life. 🤍

If you’re currently planning your wedding, save this for the days when the nerves start creeping in.

Tell me below — are you excited, nervous, or a little bit of both? ✨

One of my favourite things about working in weddings is hearing this. 🤍
I’ve lost count of how many bridesmaids, wedding guests and event clients have sat in my chair and said:
‘I already know who’s doing my wedding makeup... now I just need him to propose.’
And honestly, I don’t take that lightly.
Long before the venue is booked, the dress is chosen, or the ring is on their finger, they’ve already imagined how they want to feel on their wedding day.
If you’re one of those girls quietly saving bridal inspiration boards already... I see you. ✨
Tell me—are you already planning your wedding before the proposal? 👀💍

“I didn’t even do a trial… I just trusted you.” ✨

One of the sweetest things a bride can say to me is that she feels completely confident in my work before we’ve even met.

She had researched my work, read through my brides’ experiences, and felt comfortable enough to skip the trial entirely. With her vision and my skills, we created the most beautiful harmonious bridal hair and makeup look that still felt completely like *her*.

While I absolutely recommend trials where possible, especially if you’re someone who feels anxious, wears minimal makeup normally, or struggles to explain what you like, they’re also about building confidence and refining details before the wedding day.

But sometimes, when the communication is clear and the trust is there, everything just flows so naturally 🤍

I couldn’t be happier with how her final look came together.

Would you book your bridal artist without a trial, or are you someone who loves having that practice run first? ✨

Wedding mornings can feel incredibly overwhelming for brides.

From the moment they wake up, they’re usually thinking about timelines, family dynamics, suppliers, weather, dresses, photos, guests… while also trying to stay calm enough to actually enjoy the day 🤍

As a bridal hair & makeup artist, I can always tell when a groom is genuinely supportive on the wedding morning. The whole energy feels calmer. Things run smoother. The bride is more relaxed and present.

It’s usually not about huge gestures either — it’s the small things that make the biggest difference:

✨ Have your phone on and answer it
If vendors, family or the bridal party can’t contact you, the bride becomes the middle man for everything. Suddenly she’s solving problems while sitting in the makeup chair trying to relax.

✨ Know where you’re meant to be without asking her repeatedly
The morning runs on timelines. If the groom is texting “what time am I leaving again?” or “where am I meant to go?” it adds unnecessary mental load onto the bride.

✨ Handle your own bridal party logistics
Your bride should not be organising the boys’ shirts, transport, shoes or making sure everyone is awake while she’s getting ready herself.

✨ Send her a reassuring message
Not another stressful question. A simple “I love you, everything’s under control and I can’t wait to see you” can completely shift her nerves for the better.

✨ Don’t leave last minute jobs for her to solve
Missing belts, forgotten vows, late family members, transport confusion… if everything becomes the bride’s responsibility, the morning can go from calm to chaos very quickly.

✨ Be early, not “on time”
One delay affects everything - ceremony start times, photos, transport and vendor schedules. Buffer time matters more than people realise.

The calmest wedding mornings always feel like teamwork, not like the bride is carrying the whole day on her shoulders 🤍

Brides, what would you add to this list?

Good bridesmaids genuinely change the entire energy of a wedding morning ✨

As someone who’s been part of hundreds of wedding mornings, these are the things that actually help your bride feel calm, supported and able to enjoy the day.

1. Arrive on time, fully ready for hair & makeup
Not half packed. Not still needing coffee. Not drying your hair in the bathroom when the artist arrives 😂
A smooth morning starts with everyone being prepared before the schedule begins.

2. Wash your hair the night before
Freshly washed hair is fine — wet hair is the issue. Hair needs to be completely dry and ideally blow dried after washing so it doesn’t hold excess moisture that affects styling longevity.

3. Don’t make the morning about you
The wedding morning sets the tone for the whole day. Keeping the energy calm, positive and easygoing makes a huge difference for the bride without even realising it.

4. Keep track of the little things
Phones, bouquets, dresses steaming, water, timelines, jewellery… brides have 100 things in their head already. Helpful bridesmaids notice the small things before the bride has to ask.

5. Learn how to fluff a dress & veil for photos
This sounds silly but it genuinely makes SUCH a difference in photos and helps the photographer massively. You become the bride’s behind-the-scenes support person all day.

6. Hype her up
Your bride will probably be nervous at some point. Tell her she looks beautiful. Tell her everything is running smoothly. The people around her affect how she remembers the morning more than they realise ✨

Natural makeup is so subjective to everyone.
One bride’s natural is gloss and mascara and another bride’s natural is lashes and a bronze eye 😂
But if your goal is to still look like yourself, just polished for your wedding day, I can absolutely do that.

If you’ve never been a bridesmaid before, here’s your little guide for the wedding day 🤍

• Keep the vibes calm & fun
The bride will feed off everyone’s energy all morning. If the room feels stressed, rushed or chaotic, she’ll instantly feel overwhelmed too.

• Be ready on time for hair & makeup
One person running late can push the whole morning behind schedule which then affects photos, transport and sometimes even ceremony timing.

• Watch the little details before photos
Crooked necklaces, twisted straps, bunched trains, messy veils and hair caught under dresses are the tiny things nobody notices until the photos come back later 😭

• Keep water, snacks & lip products nearby
A lot of brides barely eat once the nerves kick in which can leave them feeling emotional, faint, shaky or exhausted halfway through the day.

• Help without needing to be asked
Sometimes the most helpful thing is grabbing the bride’s phone, carrying flowers, steaming a dress, holding touch-up products or fixing something small before she even notices it.

• Hype her up 🤍
This is such a vulnerable day for a lot of brides. Compliment her, reassure her and make her feel beautiful the entire day.

The best bridesmaids aren’t just there to wear the dress and hold the bouquet… they help make the whole day feel easier for the bride ✨

Save this if you’re a bridesmaid this year 👀

I used to think I was just hard to please when it came to jobs.
I would always notice things I’d want to do differently, ways things could feel more personal, more thoughtful, more creative.
For a long time I thought maybe that was a bad thing. But eventually I realised it was probably because I was never meant to build someone else’s dream forever. I was meant to create my own.
Owning a business is exhausting, emotional, exciting and overwhelming all at once… but there’s something really special about building a life that actually feels aligned with who you are.
So here I am, working hard for the things I used to only daydream about 🤍

Being a bride is a big ask for someone who’s never really liked being the centre of attention.
Then suddenly, all eyes are on you for an entire day.
I think a lot of brides spend so much of their lives trying to make themselves smaller, quieter, less noticeable… that the idea of fully being seen can feel really uncomfortable.
But this is the one day you’re allowed to take up space.
You’re allowed to feel beautiful.
You’re allowed to be looked at.
Not because you need to perform for everyone else… but because you deserve to experience what it feels like to be celebrated by the people who love you most.
And honestly? Most brides walk away saying the part they feared the most ended up feeling strangely safe once the day actually arrived. If being the centre of attention terrifies you… read this caption.
