One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned after 16 years in business is that going viral doesn’t necessarily bring you more clients.

I’ve never had a million-view reel, yet I’ve built a thriving, fully booked beauty business completely organically.

Here’s what made the biggest difference…

I stopped trying to reach everyone and started focusing on reaching the right people.

These are the 3 things I focused on instead:

✨ 1. Become known locally.
I’d rather have 500 people in my local area see my content than 50,000 people on the other side of the world who’ll never book an appointment.

👇 Keep reading… I’ve included the exact local marketing strategy below that I recently shared with my Telegram coaching group. Several members started receiving new bookings, enquiries and followers within 24 hours of putting it into action.

✨ 2. Give people an experience worth talking about.
Beautiful work gets clients through the door, but the experience you create is what keeps them coming back.

Make your clients feel welcomed, comfortable, listened to and genuinely cared for. That’s how you build loyal clients who stay for years and happily refer their friends.

✨ 3. Show up consistently.
You don’t need to post every day, but you do need to stay visible. Consistency keeps you front of mind when someone is ready to book.

Going viral can absolutely help your business—but only if it’s reaching the right people.

✨ If you’re not sure where to start, I’ve created a FREE Local Marketing Strategy Guide with simple strategies to attract more local clients, followers and bookings.

Comment “LOCAL” below and I’ll send you your free copy. 💕

If I had to start my lash business again tomorrow, these are the five lessons I’d focus on first.

They didn’t just make me a better lash artist—they helped me build a fully booked business and a career I genuinely love.

✨ Consistency builds successful businesses.

Showing up every week, improving your skills, posting your work, looking after your clients, and continuing even when you don’t feel motivated will always beat short bursts of motivation.

✨ Clients remember how you made them feel.

Of course they’ll notice beautiful lashes, but they’ll also remember how comfortable your bed was, the music you played, the warm blanket, the little details, how welcomed they felt, and how you made them feel every time they walked through your door. That’s what keeps people coming back year after year.

✨ Confidence comes from doing, not waiting.

I see so many artists waiting until they feel “ready” before putting themselves out there. The truth is, confidence is built through experience. Every client, every mistake, and every challenge teaches you something. Use that evidence to make better decisions next time instead of letting it convince you you’re not good enough.

✨ Marketing is a skill, not luck.

Creating beautiful work is only part of the job. Learning how to communicate your value, build trust, show up consistently and let the right people discover you is what turns a skill into a successful business.

✨ You don’t need to go viral to build a successful business.

I’ve never built my business by chasing viral videos. I’ve built it by consistently showing up, building trust, looking after my clients, and reaching the people who genuinely needed my services. Some of my clients have been with me for 16 years. That’s all the evidence I need that consistency will always outperform chasing views.
