Well.. it’s already been a morning.. 🥰

Today I’ve had clients walk through my salon door feeling completely overwhelmed.

There have been tears.
There have been big deep breaths.
There have been “I’m just so tired” conversations.

And every single one of them walked out smiling.

That’s one of my favourite parts of this job.

Yes, I love giving beautiful brows, smooth skin and glowing facials…

But I also love creating a space where, for just an hour, life can slow down, we have a big chat and let out all the stress..

No school runs.
No emails.
No endless to-do lists.

Just a warm bed, quiet music, a little self-care, and someone who genuinely understands and wants you to leave feeling better than when you arrived.

Sometimes the treatment is only half of what people need.

The other half is simply having permission to stop for a little while. 🤍

So if you’re ever having one of those days and can feel a full menty B brewing… don’t apologise.

Come in, relax, and let me look after you for a while.

The salon is officially back open today! 🤍

The kids are busy doing activities.

The extra kids have gone home.

The house is quiet.

The coffee is hot.

And today it’s back to doing what I love… facials, waxing and catching up with some lovely clients. ✨

As much as I love the school holiday chaos, there’s something pretty special about walking into a peaceful salon, putting on some relaxing music and helping my clients feel their best.

Life feels pretty fabulous today. 🤍

Today’s CEO meeting has been… postponed. 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️

I somehow ended up with two extra kids at my house today. 🥰

So instead of a productive day of decluttering, planning, and working on Kaikovae Beauty…

I’ve been promoted to:
🏡 Snack dispenser
🥤 Drink refiller
🧯Argument mediator
🚪 Door opener
🍎 Professional “Can I have…” responder

The house is loud.
The CEO list hasn’t moved.
The decluttering is questionable at best.

But honestly… I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I love a house that’s full of kids, laughter and a little bit of chaos. ❤️

The planner can wait.
These days won’t last forever.

Now tell me… who’s the house that always ends up with the extra kids? 😂👇 and are you surviving the holidays 🤣

Things I’ve heard my kids say this morning…

🎨 “I can’t paint with noise, so be quiet.”

👩🏻‍🎨 “I’m a professional painter.”

🚪 “I hate it here. I’m leaving.”
(Returned approximately 2 minutes later.)

🙋🏻‍♀️ “Mum.”
…about 75 times.

🥞 “Can you make pancakes?”

🥣 “Can I have soup for breakfast?”

🙃 “Can I have this?”
“Can I have that?”

Meanwhile, I’ve had one coffee, haven’t showered, and I’m somehow expected to function like a fully qualified event coordinator, chef, referee, Uber driver and emotional support human.

Just another Sunday in our house. 🤍🤣

This morning I’ve been at one of my kids’ school assemblies. Plus another one received a merit certificate.. 🥰🥹

The salon will open late, and honestly… that’s exactly why I built Kaikovae Beauty.

I started this business because I wanted to build a life that worked for my family.

I started it because I wanted the freedom to be present for the moments that matter.

To cheer at school assemblies.
To make the sports carnivals.
To be there for sick days.
To still have a career I absolutely love while raising my family.

Then, after the assembly, I’ll head back to the salon and spend the rest of the day doing what I love—helping women feel confident in their own skin.

Some days it’s busy.
Some days it’s messy.
Some days the to-do list feels endless.

But I wouldn’t change it for the world.

This little business has given me something I never knew I needed…

Today marks 18 years without my beautiful Mum 🌹

Grief changes over time, but the love never does.

Somehow life keeps moving, kids keep growing, businesses keep growing, and we learn to carry the people we miss with us through it all.

I often wonder what she’d think of the life I’ve built, and I hope she’d be proud. 🖤
