This is a fabulous opportunity if you currently have a child aged 18 months to 3 years who is a late talker.
Last week I had the absolute privilege of spending 4 days learning orofacial myofunctional therapy (OFM)! It was all online (because of COVID) and turned out to be in Melbourne Daylight Savings time (hello 5am wake ups!), but it was totally worth it :)
What is OFM? Well it's a skill set based in a deep knowledge of the muscles of the face and mouth, and what to do when some of those muscles aren't pulling their weight.
I've spent the past week taking photos and videos of some of my lovely little clients, getting ready to put my new learning into practice! 🤩👏🍾

Some research recently released by MCRI - a good reminder of the importance of the 'basics' in early childhood.
More Aussie kids could be illiterate within next generation Exclusive: An increasing proportion of Australian children could be illiterate within the next generation without urgent action.
I'm really excited about attending a set of essay writing workshops in the next few weeks, improving my ability to help older primary and high school kids develop their writing skills.

In breaking news....
A study has just been released, updating the ages when we expect children to say certain speech sounds.

A couple of weeks ago, I attended a course called 'Talk for Writing' at the Dyslexia Speld Foundation...
I have been trying out my new skills with a few clients and we are all loving it!
Today we innovated on the Gingerbread Man story and a 6 year old boy created a great story about a Shortbread Cube who hopped away, and was eaten by a fluffy dog. 😋
