Let’s talk vermillion borders 🤓

The vermilion border is the border or perimeter of your lip tissue, the part that separates the coloured part of your lips from the surrounding facial skin. It’s essentially the outline of your lips.

It’s an important landmark in lip blush tattooing because it’s where your lips naturally begin and end.
As we age and other varying lifestyle factors, the vermilion border can become:

* Less defined or blurred
* Lighter in colour
* Uneven from one side to the other
* Broken up by areas of pigment loss

When this happens, lips can appear smaller or uneven.

In lip blush, one of the biggest ways we create the illusion of fuller lips is by restoring the definition of the vermilion border. This is different from tattooing outside the lips on the skin tissue. You’re enhancing the natural anatomical border, not inventing a new one.

Here you can see her lips before, her new outline using her vermillion border for added volume and then afterwards.

Your lips, just better!

Contrary to popular belief, microblading isn’t suitable for all skin types, brow types or brow goals.

Clients with normal to dry skin and small pores are great candidates who will see beautiful results. Mature skin can often be a beautiful candidate too - but this is judged on a case by case basis.

You also need to have fine to average brow hairs, if your hairs are thick and course it won’t blend well and will drown out the microblading. Another thing to note, is if you are makeup wearer, microblading probably wont replace makeup for you and you will still need to fill in your brows most days.

Oily skin types and/or enlarged pores will experience softer, blurred, less crisp healed strokes. Not like what you see in the lovely photos you’re browsing….

These clients will be better suited to a machine technique, or a well executed combination of both methods known as combo brows.

Ultimately the goal is natural, right? The most natural results are the ones curated to your skintype and anatomy. Period. Everyone thinks Microblading is the most natural treatment and whilst this is true when it’s done on the correct skintype, what you may not realise is, is all the methods I offer in salon are designed to be natural and are completely customisable based on your goals. This is where the magic happens.

The best treatment for you, isn’t determined by what’s trending. It’s determined by a thorough consultation and analysis of your skintype, your lifestyle, and the desired results then curated by me, for you 🪄

If you’re unsure the best treatment to book, you can book a free consultation at the link in bio or the DMs are always open 🧚‍♀️

A reminder that your beauty appointments shouldn’t feel intimidating.

You don’t need to know all the terminology.
You don’t need perfect brows before you come in.
You don’t need to apologise for being busy, nervous, quiet, overwhelmed or human.

Appointments should feel comfortable, collaborative and low pressure. Always.

Hi, hello, welcome.

Same woman. Just older, wiser, better.

I’ve been pouring my heart and soul into this for 9 years now. Pair that with 9 years experience as a makeup artist and that’s nearly two decades spent studying, shaping and working with faces.

I founded and then sold one of Victoria’s busiest brow salons, built a team of incredibly talented artists, and gathered over 200 five-star reviews. I then moved to the Gold Coast to start fresh after the pandemic. No shortcuts. No coasting. Just rebuilding with intention.

Over the past four years in the Sunshine state, I’ve had the space to truly refine my niche and my style without distraction.

My specialty is natural, highly customised results that feel balanced, timeless and completely suited to you. This is undoubtedly my speciality. I’m not a copy and paste artist, and I never will be.

This level of work only comes from years of experience, ongoing education, refinement and time in the chair.

So hi, welcome to Sarah Lea Brows 2.0. A modern brow and cosmetic tattoo salon located in the heart of Southport (the nice part - not the yucky part) where we value quality over quantity, timeless over trends and precision over quick fixes.

Consider this a reintroduction…

I can’t wait to meet you 🧚‍♀️
