Notice to clients!
From 26th May to 9th of June I will be away 🗓️
I am attending my 3rd equine dissection, and then going on a belated honeymoon trip to Japan 🥹
Regular lessons will be taking a pause for the two weeks and bodywork sessions will be scheduled around this.
I will still be able to reply to online messages (social media/email) during this time however will be unavailable via phone/text.
I’m almost fully booked for May now with just a few spots left for bodywork locally around the Sunshine Coast but I am taking bookings for June when I’m back 💌
Priority will be given to those who have already messaged to request a session - if I haven’t got back to you please send another message as they sometimes get lost when I get so many messages a day on multiple different platforms 😅
Thanks everyone! 🤍🐴
Horses read far more than our cues, they also read our nervous system.
When we slow our breath, soften our body, and regulate ourselves, it gives them something steady to connect to, especially the anxious ones. Our breathing can influence rhythm, relaxation, and regulation.
This session with Muffin was a good example that sometimes the best thing we can do (especially if they are anxious about a task) is invite the horse to check in with us, take a deep breath, and re-regulate before asking again. I noticed when I invited her to check in, she was holding some tension in her body and taking shallower breaths as a result, so I wanted to take a moment to create space for her to soften and breathe before we continued.
With my exhale, my body softens and helps create conditions for regulation.
Try this during moments of tension or exhaling on a downward transition (one of my favourites to teach!) to encourage your horse to soften with you 🤍
Thanks to Muffin’s amazing owner Kirsty for allowing me to share this moment!
Many clients have asked me: “Is it possible to do the straddle pole exercise ridden?”
I’ll let and Aries answer that 🤩
It’s difficult but if your horse has good proprioception and can activate their deep hip stabilising muscles then it’s doable 🙌
Make sure you practice on the ground first as these two have done before attempting it ridden!

What a beautiful day we had for a muster at Tewantin Noosa Pony Club - thanks for having me along to be the polework coach for the day!
It was lovely to catch up with everyone and see all your horses trying their hardest with the exercises! 🤩
I’ll be catching up with messages tomorrow after a busy weekend - thanks everyone for your patience! 💌

Stretching for Bettina’s beautiful mare Cha Cha during her recent session 🤍
Remember the best time to stretch your horse’s legs is after a workout/ride when their muscles are warm! While I can relax muscles and the nervous system to allow for stretching during a bodywork session, you’ll sometimes get a much deeper stretch after you ride 💪
Combining stretching during bodywork and post ridden work will have the best results as they each have slightly different benefits!
Stretching during bodywork:
🐴 Improves comfort and joint mobility
🐴 Reduces tightness and protective tension
🐴 Prepares tissues for future movement
Stretching after a ride:
🏇 Increases flexibility and movement quality
🏇 Restores range of motion
🏇 Helps recovery and reduces soreness
Get in touch via DM or text 0413123465 if you’d like to book in for a bodywork session and learn more about stretching for your horse! ☺️📲
