The tea comes from a single plant, Camellia Sinensis. Types of tea are divided into 6 groups, which are distinguished by the degree of processing to obtain the final product.

What is black tea?

Black tea takes the utmost effort. After harvesting, the leaves are left in the sun. Then they are rolled to activate internal chemical reactions with air. During fermentation, the leaves darken and go from green to red and then turn black. Then the leaves are dried and packaged.

Assam is grown in the Assam Valley, India. Assam tea is harvested three times - the first, second and autumn harvest. The first harvest has a rich and fresh aroma; the second is the basis for the famous "Tippy" teas - this is a tea from the upper unopened leaf buds. This drink is high in caffeine and has a golden color. Tea leaves have a low astringency and a sweetish taste. Standard varieties are produced from the autumn harvest.
Tea grown in the Darjeeling province of India in the foothills of the Himalayan ridge is considered to be unique and has no equal anywhere in the world. Differs in rare Muscat aroma and exquisite bouquet.
Ceylon tea is grown in five different regions of Sri Lanka. Differs in lightness and aroma with sweetish and floral notes.
Chinese tea has become a historical, legendary and religious canon. Keemun black tea, the most famous in China, is distinguished by its rich aroma and complex taste. Keemun can be stored for many years.
What is flavored tea?

Scented teas from China should not be confused with specially flavored teas that get their flavor through oils or chemicals. Natural plant components are added to teas for aroma - jasmine flowers, rose petals, fruits. Yunnan tea has a very characteristic appearance - the leaf is very unstable and multi-colored, has a rich full flavor with a subtle sweetness.

Herbal infusions of various mixtures of dried herbs, fruits, spices and flowers replace tea and do not contain tea leaves. As a rule, the ingredients are dried before brewing, but they are also used fresh.

What is green tea?

Green tea differs in the way it is prepared. After harvesting, the leaves are sorted and steamed. Green varieties do not ferment and contain a minimum of caffeine. The leaves are rolled in various shapes before drying in the form of fine threads or rolled into balls. Then packaged. Green tea is known to be the most powerful antioxidant.

What is oolong tea?

Oolong tea is a black tea that is harvested in the wilting stage. The difference is that oolong tea goes through a shorter natural drying and fermentation phase. The color ranges from almost black to dark green depending on the degree of fermentation. Amber Oolong is a drink with a rich rich yellow color and shades of sweetness, similar to grape wines.

What is White Tea?

White tea is the least processed. The leaves are harvested at the beginning of the year, when tiny white hairs are barely visible on the leaves and the bud is still closed. Collect only the tops of the leaves and buds, then dry in the sun without steam like green tea. Mechanical drying is sometimes required. The result is a pale yellow beverage with a slightly sweet taste.

Original tea

Pu-erh tea, after processing and drying, undergoes additional fermentation. Microorganisms change its chemical composition. Traditionally, this is achieved over years in controlled climatic conditions (10-15 years). Pu-erh develops a richer, more complex aroma and has a wide variety of flavors. When ripe, it may resemble white, green, or red tea, but when finished, it has dark black tea aromas and a unique character.
Rooibos or red tea is made from another plant, Aspalathus Linearis. This is a traditional South African infusion made like black tea, but decaffeinated. There are two varieties - green and red. Rooibos has a sweet, woody aroma. It is a source of antioxidants that aids digestion, relieves stress and allergies.
The mate from South America is derived from the Paraguariensis plant. Mate is high in caffeine, contains antioxidants, relaxes smooth muscles and helps control appetite. Herbal, bitter taste.
From green tea to hibiscus, white tea to chamomile, the drink is full of flavonoids and other healthy positive substances that support good health, happiness, and wisdom. Studies have shown that certain teas help fight cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, promote weight loss, lower cholesterol and improve mental performance. Tea also has antimicrobial properties.
