More Than 70 Pro-Government Militia Members Captured by Resistance Forces in Magway Region

Resistance forces in Myanmar's Magway Region say they have captured more than 70 members of a pro-government militia following operations in Kukko Su and surrounding areas of Pauk Township. According to resistance representatives, the detainees are being treated as prisoners of war and are receiving protections in line with international humanitarian standards. The operation comes amid intensified clashes in the region, where resistance groups have described the captured villages as strategically important to control of Pauk Township.

The United States military said it attacked radar installations on Iran's southern coast after intercepting four Iranian drones launched toward the Strait of Hormuz, marking the latest escalation to test the fragile ceasefire between Washington and Tehran.

According to US Central Command (CENTCOM), American forces shot down four one-way attack drones that were heading toward the strategic waterway before striking Iranian coastal surveillance radar sites in the city of Goruk and on Qeshm Island.

A ceasefire between the United States and Iran has been in effect since April 8, but efforts to reach a more permanent settlement have so far failed, leaving tensions high across the region.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan is expected to visit Rohingya refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar during an official visit to Bangladesh on June 5 and 6, according to diplomatic sources. The visit comes as nearly one million Rohingya refugees continue to live in camps after fleeing persecution and violence in Myanmar.
