Episode 7 What People Don’t See
People see me smile.
People see me post.
People see me showing up.
But what they don’t see…
is the exhaustion that lives in my bones.
The nights when sleep refuses to come because pain is louder than rest. The moments I sit quietly, fighting battles I don’t talk about. They don’t see the fear before dialysis. The needles. The waiting.
The way time feels heavier when your life depends on a machine.
They don’t see the tears I wipe away before I say, “I’m okay.”
They don’t see how much strength it takes just to wake up and choose life again.
But I’m still here.
Still breathing.
Still believing.
This journey has taught me that strength isn’t loud.
Sometimes, strength is simply surviving another day in silence.
If you’re fighting something people don’t see I see you.
You are not weak. You are brave.
This is The Journey with Arie: Strength in Every Step.
Follow for tomorrow’s journey 💙

EPISODE 6: Hope Beyond Illness
Illness tried to define me, but it did not finish me.
Being a kidney patient changed my body, but it also revealed my strength. It taught me patience, gratitude, and the power of hope. I learned that even in pain, life can still be meaningful.
My dreams did not die they only changed shape. I still believe in love, purpose, and a future filled with light. As long as I wake up each day, there is hope waiting for me.
I may be living with kidney failure, but I refuse to live without hope. My story is not about sickness it is about survival, faith, and courage.
If you are reading this and feeling tired, hold on. Your tomorrow still matters.

EPISODE 5 : She Held My Hand While I Fought to Live
There was a time I was afraid to sleep, because I didn’t know how my body would feel when I woke up.
Kidney disease entered my life quietly, but it changed everything loudly. My strength faded, my routine disappeared, and my dreams felt like they were slipping away. But in the middle of all that pain, there was one small hand that never let go of mine.
My daughter.
When I was diagnosed, she was preparing for her Grade 7 exams. She was still a child, yet life asked her to be brave. She cried when she thought I wasn’t looking. She smiled when she saw me watching. I didn’t always have the strength to explain what was happening to my body, so sometimes I spoke with my hands, my eyes, and my prayers.
I watched her carry books while I carried fear.
Some days, the hospital took more from me than I could give. But every time I felt like giving up, I remembered that she was watching me learn how to survive. I prayed not just to be healed but to live long enough to see her future.
God heard us.
She passed her exams. And in that moment, I realized something powerful: my illness did not destroy her childhood it shaped her strength. And her strength keeps me alive.
Today, I am still fighting. Dialysis is not easy. Some days my body is tired, and my heart is heavy. But I wake up because she needs me. I breathe because she believes in me. I keep going because love gives strength when the body has none.
If you are reading this, I ask for your prayers.
If you can support, please do.
If you cannot, your kind words are enough.
This is not a story of giving up.
It is a story of a mother still standing because her daughter is holding her hand.

EPISODE 4: Love, Support, and Rejection
Illness reveals people.
It shows you who stays…
and who slowly disappears.
When I became sick, some hearts drew closer to mine.
They prayed with me.
They checked on me.
They reminded me I still mattered.
But others walked away.
Some didn’t know what to say.
Some got tired of the journey.
Some only loved me when I was strong.
Rejection hurts more than pain.
Being forgotten cuts deeper than needles.
There were moments I felt invisible, unwanted, and alone.
But God showed me something powerful:
Not everyone is meant to walk the whole journey with you.
Illness taught me to value true love, not loud love.It taught me that support doesn’t need many people just the right ones. And when human love failed me, God’s love never did.
If you’ve lost people because of your pain, don’t blame yourself.
Sometimes God removes people to protect your heart.
I am still standing.
Still believing.
Still loved.
💙🙏
EPISODE 3: Pain, Faith, and Prayer
There is a kind of pain that medicine cannot touch.
The pain of fear.
The pain of uncertainty.
The pain of asking God questions with no answers.
As a kidney patient, I have learned to pray differently. Not long prayers just honest ones. Sometimes all I can say is, “God, help me.” And somehow, that is enough.
There are days my body is weak, but my faith carries me. There are nights I cry quietly, holding onto hope like it’s my last breath. I don’t always understand God’s plan, but I trust that my life still has meaning.
Pain changed me.
Faith sustains me.
Prayer keeps me alive.
If you are hurting silently, know this: God hears even the prayers you cannot speak.
💙🙏
God is my strength in this kidney journey.🙏💙

Episode 2: Living on Dialysis
Dialysis is not just a medical treatment it is a lifestyle that chooses you.
My days are no longer planned around dreams or outings first. They are planned around hospital visits, machines, and waiting rooms. Time moves differently when you are on dialysis. Hours feel long, and your body feels heavier than your spirit wants it to be.
The machine cleans my blood, but it also reminds me that my body can no longer do what it once did on its own. Needles, tubes, and beeping sounds became familiar. At first, I was afraid. Afraid of the pain. Afraid of the routine. Afraid that this would define who I am.
After each session, exhaustion follows. My body feels weak, my head feels heavy, and sometimes even walking feels like a mountain to climb. There are days I come home and sleep, not because I am lazy, but because my body has fought a silent battle.
But dialysis also taught me something unexpected patience. It taught me how to sit still and listen to my thoughts. It taught me how to pray without words. It taught me that life is fragile, and every extra day is a gift.
Even on dialysis, I am still alive.
Even on dialysis, I still have purpose.
Even on dialysis, I still choose hope.
This journey is hard, but it has not defeated me.
I am learning to live again one session, one breath, one day at a time.
Episode 1: When My Life Changed
My name is Godiramang Arie, and this is my story as a kidney patient.
I never imagined that one day my life would be measured by hospital visits, medication times, and dialysis sessions. Like many people, I had dreams, plans, and hopes for the future. I wanted to live fully, love deeply, and chase my purpose. Then one day, everything changed.
When I was told that my kidneys were failing, fear became my closest companion. I asked myself many questions: Why me? Will I survive? What will my future look like? The pain was not only physical, but emotional and spiritual too. Watching my body grow weak while my heart still wanted to be strong was one of the hardest battles I have ever faced.
Dialysis became my new normal. The long hours, the exhaustion, and the silence of the hospital taught me patience. Some days I cried. Some days I prayed. Some days I felt like giving up. But deep inside me, there was a small voice that kept saying, “You are still alive for a reason.”
Being a kidney patient has taught me humility, faith, and gratitude. I learned to appreciate small things—waking up, breathing, smiling, and being loved. I learned that strength is not about never falling, but about rising again even when your body feels tired.
This is not the end of my story. This is only the beginning. I am still here. I am still dreaming. And I am still fighting.
