Why are we so afraid of change? Why do we resist it?

For me, it's always been because I hated being uncomfortable and not knowing what comes next. The thought of living in the unknown scared the crap out of me so for years, I stayed in my box. Never ruffled anyone's feathers and just coasted through what felt like groundhog day.

It's only in the past couple years that I've become more comfortable with change...and I don't mean little change...I mean transformative, "change your life path" kind of change and it's been one of the most rewarding journeys of my life.

The air tickles my face differently, I feel things differently, I see things differently but most importantly, I see myself differently.

Things are shifting.

Changing.

Transforming.

And it's just the beginning...

I know not everyone will be accepting of it and I'm at peace with it.

Peace is where happiness lies....I've never been happier.

Mine is "Your net worth is your self worth". I like this quote because there was a time I felt I didn't deserve to be as happy as I am today. There was a time where I settled for mediocrity and didn't feel worthy of abundance. My how things have changed in my world!

Today, I know I'm worthy of every single blessing that presents itself to me and my goal is to share what I've learned with others so they can feel as engaged and present in their own lives as I do today!

Checking off one goal at a time and settling into who I'm meant to be is the best feeling in the world!

If I could go back in time and tell my past self anything...I would tell myself that you would figure it all out eventually, that I am more capable than I could ever imagine, that my dream is worth chasing, that the hard work will pay off and not to listen to the people that tell me I can't. I never thought that I'd end up here, running a successful beauty business while coaching other women how to do the same but guys...I sure am glad I'm here!

I've been contemplating the idea of not carrying an inventory of product lately, I know this isn't standard for our industry but hear me out!
As the world turn to digital everything and non stop Amaz@$....purchases, it's becoming increasingly difficult to stay competitive when it comes to retail sales in this industry.
When a random, untrained person can purchase professional hair products (including color and lightener) online for cheaper than I can buy it wholesale, we have a serious problem and that my friends is exactly what's going on in the hair world.
I know that this goes against the traditional way of doing things however, it may be time to evolve and find other streams of income.
If you're seeing this trend in your hair business, what do you think? Will you continue to carry retail hair product if you're being undercut by big online giants?

1. I never imagined I would end up working in the beauty industry, having 2 brothers, I was more interested in skateboarding and street hockey than fashion and makeup. An opportunity fell on my lap and I just dove in without knowing what was in store for me.

2. Ever since I was a little girl, my dream job is to be an acrobat in Cirque de Soleil. I was freakishly flexible as a kid, took gymnastics and oh how I wish I would have continued!

3. I think coffee and alcohol are the most disgusting drinks ever. I swear my taste buds haven't evolved past 5 years old. My most favorite drink ever is chocolate milk!
