Hardest post I’ve ever had to make...

Thank you to everyone who came to see me, trusted me with their skin and supported my little business 💖

As I am getting more and more busy with my career change, I’ve decided to close down my microneedling studio to focus on building my full-time career.

If any of you would like to reach out to me with any questions, or to even just keep in touch - feel free to message me at my new IG .socialstudios or send me a text message at 780-297-3242.

Love you all 💕

Common skin changes after a microneedling treatment:

Day 1-2: Skin will feel sunburned, tight and dry.
Day 3-5: Skin will begin to slightly peel, due to new skin cells regenerating.
Day 6 & on: Skin will feel tight and irritated, and it will start to go back to normal.

*NOTE* Peeling is not as severe as a chemical peel treatment, microneedling is popular for having 3-4 day downtime. Depending on skin type and sensitivity, some clients may experience longer recovery time.

Feel free to reach out to me with any questions you may have!

Why you need to understand Fitzpatrick skin type scale before your microneedling treatment:

You have to know your skin type before getting a microneedling treatment to ensure it is the right procedure for you.

Darker skin types such as the ones falling under the Type V (brown) and VI (black) have a higher percentage of melanin (skin pigment) which causes the skin to be more prone to hyperpigmentation.

For skin types V and VI, it is best to perform a patch test where a small area is microneedled to see if any type of side reaction occurs to the skin.

If you have any concerns or questions regarding your skin type, please feel free to reach out before booking your treatment! 💗

How to properly layer your skincare products:

1. Micellar water
2. Cleanser
3. Toner
4. Serum
5. Moisturizer, Eye Cream
6. Sunscreen (SPF 50 or more)

Layering your products from thinnest to thickest in texture is important for best absorption! 💆🏻‍♀️

Have you ever wondered about the difference between dermarolling at home on your own vs getting microneedling done by a certified professional?

While dermarolling can seem like an easier option as its more affordable, it actually could cause a lot more damage to your skin than you think.

Before considering dermarolling at home, scroll through the end of the post to see the common side effects caused by derma rollers.

BEFORE & AFTER RESULTS 💉

Zoom in to see the difference in the cheeks and nose area 🧖🏽‍♀️

The client waited a big longer to come for a second time where we allowed the skin to heal and rejuvenate (results after 2-3 months could be more visible than 2-3 weeks after treatment).

Overall complexion is brighter and healthier, giving the skin a nice glow✨

Message me with any questions you may have about the treatment! Let’s glow together in 2022! 🤍

I've heard it all before...

"I never burn, I don't need to wear sunscreen."

"It's gloomy outside, SPF is not needed."

"You don't need to apply sunscreen in winter."

Well, actually all of the above are false.

Although it may not seem as if the UV rays are affecting us in such ways, more damage is done than you think.

Not only does wearing sunscreen everyday protect you from sun damage, but it also locks in your applied skin care products and improves and brightens skin discolouration caused by acne.

Wearing sunscreen in the following days after your microneedling treatment is a must, and should always be done without question.

Besides, what's better than preventing premature skin aging such as fine lines and wrinkles?

Three vitamins that have improved the overall appearance of my skin:

1. Omega-3 fish oil - consists of PUFA, or also known as polyunsaturated fatty acid which our body does not make on its own. Omega 3 can lower the aging process by reducing inflammation in the body and in return improve overall skin health.

2. Vitamin D - Most people are deficient in Vitamin D and they don’t even know it! A big cause of acne might be your vitamin D deficiency. If your diet does not consist of dairy products (which in a lot of cases are the cause of acne), it’s a great idea to add Vitamin D to your daily supplements. A liquid form of a vitamin D would be the most effective as its best absorbed into your body in comparison to the Vitamin D pill.

3. Zinc - protects against bacterial infection and is effective in decreasing oil production. Zinc can reduce irritation and redness in the skin, as well as improve acne scars appearance.

Seriously though? It's a crime at this point 😂
