The Collarbone Point: Kidney 27 (K27)
Have you ever noticed that when you are deeply listening, catching your breath, or lying down to rest, you instinctively place a hand right below your collarbone? Whether you are trying to connect with yourself or simply looking to settle your mind, your hands naturally know where to go. In acupressure, this specific area holds a powerful point called Kidney 27 (K27), or "Shu Mansion." It acts like a natural grounding button, lowering cortisol to instantly take the edge off physical pain and emotional anxiety.
Why It Helps
It is a simple, highly effective daily tool for:
Respiratory Support: This is the main point where meridian energy connects with your lungs, making it incredible for opening up shallow breathing and easing chest tightness.
Digestion & Stomach: Because this pathway runs down through the abdomen, stimulating K27 helps settle the gut and quiet nervous "stomach flips."
Physical Pain Relief: By dropping your nervous system out of fight-or-flight, it reduces systemic tension and promotes natural, physical healing.
How to Find & Use It
To find it, move slightly downward and outward from the center midline of your collarbone, slipping into the depression between your first and second ribs. For most people, this area feels distinctly tender to the touch - which is why it’s often called "the sore spot."
You don’t need to worry about mathematical precision to activate it. Simply take all four fingers of your hand and tap gently across the general area, rub back and forth between the ribs, or just rest your hand and hold the spot. Spend 30 to 60 seconds here while taking slow, deep breaths to let your system reset.f

Holding tension in your jaw and neck? It might be carrying more than just physical stress.
On Wednesday, we looked at the point under the nose (Gov 26) which anchors the back line of the body. Today, we are completing that loop with the point directly below it: Conception Vessel 24 (Con 24), the final stop on the midline of your front body.
Together, they form a perfect, continuous circuit right around your mouth, which we call the "Chin Point" in EFT. If you deal with jaw clenching, grinding, or tight neck tendons, this specific spot acts as a major physical release valve.
If you've ever wondered why it works so well and why it isn't just wackadoodle it's because this spot sits directly over the mental nerve, which plugs straight into your nervous system. Tapping or holding gentle pressure here sends a direct signal through that nerve pathway, telling those overactive muscles in your jaw and neck to finally let go.
Energetically, the front line of the body is also deeply tied to how we process sadness, anxiety, and stress. When you feel emotionally heavy or "frozen," stimulating this point helps lift that weight, calm your nervous system, and naturally soften your entire expression.
Try this simple, 30-second reset:
Bring your fingers to that groove below your lower lip.
Apply gentle, comforting pressure or a light tap, take a deep breath, and let your jaw drop open slightly.
Notice how much lighter your neck and face feel the moment that nerve connection registers the release.

Your mind talks in words, but your body speaks in a rich language of sensations, colors, images, and even smells.
When you experience heavy emotions like shame, guilt, or embarrassment, your body instantly "braces and hides" for impact.
This is the classic psychosomatic connection: Psyche (mind) and Soma (body) working together, where emotional stress creates very real, physical tension.
You can't always argue your way out of that physical freeze with logic; you need a physical bridge to answer the body back.
That bridge is Governing Vessel 26, a powerful reset point located in the groove right under your nose a spot people often naturally touch when they are overwhelmed.
Gently tapping, pressing, or rubbing this point for 30 seconds acts as an instant release valve for your nervous system.
For the mind, it discharges that heavy wave of shame and invites in a sense of quiet self-acceptance.
For the body, it sends a release signal down your spine to ease lower back tightness and clear up sinus pressure.
Next time you notice your body speaking the language of stress, skip the mental debate, pause, and simply touch under your nose to shift from "brace" to "breathe."

Ever notice how stress instantly hits your gut, or how worry makes your stomach knot up? There’s a direct somatic link between your mind, your nervous system, and your digestion - and it meets right under your eyes. In our tapping sequence, this under-eye point sits directly o the starting point of the Stomach Meridian.
The Location:
To find it, look straight ahead and locate the spot directly below your pupil, right on the inside ridge of your lower eye socket bone (st-1) or on bone (st-2)
The Emotional & Physical Connection:
This meridian is heavily tied to how we "digest" life. When you are stuck in chronic worry, racing thoughts, or feeling utterly overwhelmed, that stress physically locks up right here. Tapping or holding this area sends immediate, calming signals straight to your brain's alarm center to interrupt the panic loop.
Because of where this pathway travels, stimulating it also offers incredible physical relief for:
>Sinus pressure and congestion in the cheeks.
>Eye strain from long hours of screen time.
>A nervous, knotted stomach or fluttering butterflies.
Take a slow, deep breath. Using one or two fingers, gently tap or simply hold the bone right below one or both of your eyes. Notice how moving from the eyebrow point (the back body's stress line from the last post) to this under-eye point (the front body's digestion line) starts to shift your energy. See if you feel a tiny release in your jaw, your forehead, or your stomach as you breathe out.

Ever feel a surge of frustration or anger and immediately notice your eyes narrowing, or your jaw tightening?
In somatic wellness, emotions aren't just thoughts, they live in our physical bodies. When we experience frustration or find ourselves pushing back against a tricky situation, that rigid energy often bottles up right around our head, neck, and eyes.
If you practice Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) or acupressure, the "Side of the Eye" point is your built-in release valve for that hot, stuck feeling.
Known traditionally as Gallbladder 1 (GB1) or the "bone of the eye," this point sits right on the orbital bone (the bony ridge of your eye socket), about half a thumb-width out from the corner of your eye.
Why focus on just this one spot?
Physical Relief: It is deeply soothing for physical eye strain, dry eyes, or that dull eye pain after staring at a screen all day.
Emotional Release: This pathway is directly tied to how we process anger and resistance to change. When we get angry, it can create a literal visual and mental block where we can't see straight or think rationally. Tapping here releases that pent-up irritation and promotes emotional balance.
Mental Clarity: It clears that specific "blinding fog" of frustration. Once you calm the irritation, you can instantly see your next steps with absolute precision.
How to use it (Be gentle with yourself):
Because this is a sensitive area, and because anger already has a "hard" energy, we want to bring the exact opposite to our body: gentleness.
The Gentle Tap: Lightly tap on the bony ridge, touching the area as softly as you would to soothe a sleeping baby. This feather-light touch sends a direct safety signal to your nervous system to down-regulate and soften.
The Soothing Hold: If tapping feels like too much stimulation, simply press and hold the point with steady, soft pressure. Take a few slow, deep breaths, letting your shoulders drop on every exhale.
You don't need a complex routine to find balance. You can stay with this one intentional spot for as long as you need, allowing yourself to breathe, clear the fog, and look at things with a softer perspective.

Ever notice where your fingers automatically go when you get a sudden headache, feel dizzy, or have been staring at a screen for too long? Right to the inner corner of your eyebrows.
In traditional acupressure, this precise spot is called Zanzhu, which translates to "Gathering" or "Holding Bamboo."
Think of your eyebrows like upright bamboo stalks. When we are anxious, frustrated, or overthinking, we furrow our brows, literally gathering a massive amount of physical and emotional tension right into this single point.
Tapping or simply holding steady pressure here is like letting go of that tight grip, signaling your nervous system to drop the defensive posture and clear the fog.
The Pathway: This is the start of the Bladder Meridian, a massive highway running over the head and down the entire spine, heavily influencing how physical stress settles in your neck and back.
Physical Relief: It is a go-to spot for easing local pressure like frontal headaches, eye strain, sinus tightness, or sudden dizziness.
Emotional Shift: It targets the "what-if" loop of worry, dread, and impatience, shifting the mind back into calm clarity.
Try tapping gently, or just hold comforting pressure, on the inner edge of your eyebrows while taking a slow, deep breath. Notice how quickly the muscles behind your eyes and across your forehead want to soften and drop.

Ever find yourself sitting at your desk, completely overwhelmed by a foggy brain, instinctively resting the top of your head in your hands? Your body already knows exactly what it's doing.
Modern science is obsessed with the vagus nerve right now - the master nerve line that tells your body it’s safe to relax. Ancient medicine maps a central pathway over the skull called the Governing Vessel meridian. Looked at from two different angles, modern neurology and ancient medicine are pointing us toward the exact same goal: resetting our internal stress response.
Right at the very top of your head is a master intersection for this ancient pathway. When you touch this spot on purpose, you are activating a rich network of sensory nerves in the scalp that send a quiet, calming signal straight into your central nervous system and brainstem - which is exactly where your vagus nerve begins. It acts like a natural circuit breaker for your stress response, instantly reminding your nervous system that you are safe.
The next time your thoughts are looping, take a deep breath and gently hold the top of your head for thirty seconds. You are simply using your body's built-in owner's manual to support yourself and find your way back to center.

The Smart Body & Everyday Reflexes
Have you ever noticed what your hands do when you’re stressed, tired, or deeply thinking?
Maybe you find yourself pinching the bridge of your nose, resting your chin in your hand, or rubbing your temples during a long day.
We tend to think of these as just random habits, but your body is actually incredibly smart and naturally seeking out relief.
These exact spots belong to a network of natural energy pathways known as the Meridian System.
These are the very same pressure points used in acupuncture, only we use a gentle touch or light tapping instead of needles.
The places your hands automatically reach when you are overwhelmed act like built-in release valves for stress.
Your body does this instinctively, but you can also use these points on purpose to send immediate support to yourself in a difficult moment.
This month, we are going to explore these tapping points together, one by one.
I’m diving deep into where they are, how they connect to our internal organs, and why targeting them helps clear out tension.
Pay attention to your own hands today, or notice the people around you, to see just how intuitive our bodies really are.

June Recap: Your Alignment Master Toolkit
It is the last day of the month, and I have gathered all of June's resources into one master toolkit so you can save this post and easily refer back to it whenever your body needs a reset.
This month, our focus was entirely on structural alignment and the core principle that muscles move bones. When you experience chronic tightness or joint misalignment, your skeleton is simply responding to the tension patterns of the soft tissues surrounding it.
We looked at how these patterns create a full-body domino effect along the kinetic chain showing how tension in your feet or calves can pull your knees, hips, lower back, traps, and neck completely out of balance.
🌸 Special Local Artist Spotlight
This month's toolkit wrap-up features a stunning piece of custom artwork made specifically for me by the incredibly talented local Grande Prairie artist, Sherry! She completely mapped out the intricate fascial and muscular systems entirely out of flowers.

The Hidden Forces Inside Your Pelvis
We know gravity is real because our feet stay planted, and we know the wind is there because we see the trees move or feel the wind on our face.
Your internal body operates under these exact same unseen forces, constantly managing automatic patterns beneath the surface.
Every day, your autonomic nervous system runs your breathing and digestion completely on its own, but it is also a system we can consciously override.
When you perform a specialized breath hold called a hypopressives, you intentionally pause the automatic breath at the bottom of a complete exhale.
By expanding your rib cage without letting air in, you create a powerful internal vacuum that alters the pressure dynamics of your entire midbody.
Instead of forcing a hard muscular squeeze, this internal suction reflexively draws the pelvic floor, the digestion, and the deep core upward and inward.
This vacuum acts as a deep decompression tool from the inside out, finally mobilizing the chronic, stubborn tightness that many of us hold in our lower bellies.
Because the hips and pelvis are the central controllers of all human movement, changing this internal pressure environment completely shifts how your outer body moves.
For the past few weeks, we have mapped the external lines of the body, down the back, up the front, and through the sides.
Today, we are stepping through the bridge into the deep, internal landscape where our automatic physical functions meet conscious awareness.
Releasing these deep internal bracing patterns is the perfect foundation for July, where we will begin exploring how to use somatic tapping points to support our internal organs and nervous system regulation.
