Finding the balance between the old and the new in this 130 year old building. For us that means keeping a fairly traditional style (such as the light fixture that came with the building but was in the former dining room) with modern influences (such as those beautiful doors!).

What a transformation. Swipe to see the before. This is the side door, which will be a staff entrance. It’s not as grand as the front, so as to not distract, but it’s cleaned up and modernized. Lights from and installed by @ London, Ontario

It’s down to the details now: painting touch ups, hardware installation, etc. Our staff at and and been in and can’t wait to move in!

We have a move in date! We’ve been working on renovating this building since we took possession on July 1. Sometimes it’s hard to believe all we’ve done to get to this point. We’re moving in on June 11...which gives us only 4 weeks to finish up. We’re in the home stretch and can’t wait to move in. Here’s a little recap of what’s happened over the last year.

Progress on our second floor is moving speedily along! Millwork for our surgical consult rooms has been installed. Plumbing fixtures to follow shortly.

What is a beautiful architectural detail has also turned into a bit of a nuisance. When the shutters are in place (swipe left) they can’t be flush with the building since the brick on the top of the window arch sticks out farther than the rest. This has led to an invasion of sparrows making their nests behind the shutters. So now that the shutters have been removed for painting, they will be adjusted with back panels that won’t allow the birds to build their homes there. Sorry birdies, but there are plenty of trees for you in the Forest City!
