When I first started looking into materials for an exfoliating mitt, my research was showing that 100% viscose was the best performing, eco friendly and still gentle on the skin.

What I DIDN’T initially realize is that viscose is *supposed* to shrink. I thought my samples were defective 😅😂

Turns out they weren’t, viscose is a plant material. It normally comes from trees or plants that’s broken down into pulp and then the pulp turns into fibers that get spun into fabric.

When it gets wet, the fibers swell and tighten which are what give the more grippy feel without “ripping” the skin.

So all that to say, if you buy an AURA exfoliating mitt and it shrinks that’s completely normal. Exfoliating mitts are meant to be used in the shower on wet skin

I recommend putting the mitt on your hand before wetting it.
