I feel guilty to admit that this has been one of the hardest years of my life. I feel guilty because it has also been one of the most blissful. Bearing children is almost equally the hardest and most beautiful & rewarding experience of my life.

Round 1, with Mia, was much easier- mentally and physically. But even then, I was no longer myself. I felt my professional mind and performance slipping through the cracks. I couldn't keep up.

By the time I was unknowingly pregnant with Jesse, I felt I was loosing it. My business was booming and the demand for my services was higher than ever.... which I'm so thankful for and proud of. Most small businesses fail in the first three years- mine was the opposite!

But I could not do both things well: business and motherhood; as long as my kid was home and not in daycare. It was too much. I was loosing my mind, it felt, and letting down my clients. I had to make hard choices, and as soon as I found out my sweet boy was growing in me, it made my pending decision, to step back from esthetics, absolutely clear, to both me and my husband.

I have felt a sense of such peace and fulfilment from this change, yet my heart is so heavy concerning my career, my passion. I let many of you down, and I myself am sad to leave it behind, for now.
I didn't step-down gracefully either. It was an abrupt announcement with little warning or explanation, and yet still poor communication thereafter. For that, I am sorry to all of you. ♥️ I am constantly reminded of how understanding, loving, supportive, and caring you all have been.
I am looking forward to continuing in my makeup profession, although that too has been a challenge to keep up with these postpartum weeks.

I am so THANKFUL for my quiet little life. It is very new to me- Miss coffee shopper, here and there, busy lady! I have been forced to submit to a quiet life for the time being. It feels really hard some days, but it is beautiful and absolute gold.

I look forward to a time where I can serve you in my profession again, but for now, it's peaceful period, focused on family. 🤍

I am amazed at the grace and care all of my beautiful clients have shown me throughout this past year's wedding season, as pregnant a MUA. You are all gems.

For this particular bridal makeup appointment, I was working in the room next to all the bridesmaids, where they sipped tea and coffee and took turns getting their hair done. I was so encouraged to hear them spending time reading God's Word, encouraging the bride with wholesome chit-chat, prayer, laughter, and SO much love. Wow. This bride scored big-time with her girlies.
It was an honor and a blessing to be involved in S's magical wedding morning.

However, I also am always getting reminded of another major element in the beauty and magic of a wedding day... the close friends by your side. Some new and some old, the ones who have been and are there for you amidst your love journey. The ones who encouraged and supported you in choosing the right person, and the ones who plan on sticking around to keep that going through all of marriages' ups, downs, and in-betweens.

Here's to all these ladies, and the clear love they have for one another as besties. 🙏 It was beautiful to witness.

She felt like nothing was going right that day/week.
When I was packing up she returned from the mirror and said "You saved the day."
She didn't know that I was feeling the same way on my drive over that morning.

This is why I love my job so much. I get to make women feel their most beautiful selves, while having the opportunity to be a calming and encouraging presence in their lives, often on very important and meaningful occasions.

Little do they know how much they affect me in return. Their smiles and genuine excitement, appreciation, or tears of joy wipe away my own stresses and fill me up with gratitude and joy too!
