Lavender is not one single plant. In all the workshops I have taught I have stressed that reading labels is so important. A quick workshop note: The genus Lavandula includes dozens of species, and many chemotypes. 🌿 Not all lavender is created equal: know the difference and please read your labels. Spike lavender (due to camphor + cineole) is classically used in formulations for respiratory support, chest rubs, muscle rubs, and antiseptic / antiviral blends. Use spike lavender where its strengths lie, muscle, viral support, respiratory blends, but avoid it in delicate hair / scalp & face applications. In contrast, true lavender (L. angustifolia) has more esters (like linalyl acetate) and softer aroma, making it more compatible with skin, scalp, relaxation uses. 🌿 💜 And then there's Super Lavandin, higher esters and best for your sleep friend. Nature is incredible and so beautiful 😍✨🌿 use it wisely 💜

Cymbopogon martini - also known as Palmarosa 🌿 it has been used in tropical countries where it grows naturally as a protection against infection and flu like symptoms. It's also an analgesic for neuralgia and arthritis. Why? Because its chemistry is up to 85% alcohols, specifically geraniol, linalol and up to 10% esters, specifically geranyl, acetate. Makes it strongly anti-infectious and anti-bacterial. In clinical applications it's been used in sick rooms in many different ways.
