Valentino Garavani, the longest serving couturier of the 20th and 21st centuries, has died aged 93, surrounded by loved ones at his home in Rome.
Decorated with Italy’s Cavaliere di Gran Croce, France’s Légion d’honneur and the British Fashion Council’s Outstanding Achievement Award, among many others.
The designer lived by a simple mantra: ‘I always wanted to make women beautiful.’
