Rest in peace and in God’s full embrace, Dad. Love triumphs over challenges, even death. Dad, because of you, I know this…I believe this, deeply…thank you and I love you.🤍

This week’s brilliance-breakthrough, witnessed and experienced over here!

What do you love?

When anchored in love, we are not alone. So, whatever comes up, RISE…and “do it anyways”. 🤍

Life happens with happenings…
…good, and…uh-oh😳.

Like when something supports the needed acute and immediate protection and stabilization from a fully present attack, yet changes you in a noticeable way through the journey… easy to love and hate at the same time.

Since my March 28 live video update about my Lupus flare, I’ve been prioritizing health recovery which continues to require loads of down-pacing, not sweating the stuff that usually preoccupies me, and high-dose medication.
Without a “flare”, I may still experience the hallmarks of Lupus symptoms but life is generally manageable with healthy lifestyle habits and standard integrative treatments.

Now, when a flare occurs, who knows what shrapnel-effects my body will be subject to, from either the necessary medical treatment plan or the direct flare symptom (in my case: 12% total body weight loss over a 4-wk period, compromised kidney, anemia, and muscle deterioration causing limited mobility).

Four weeks into the treatment and making great strides toward recovery (yay!), but not without its uh-oh’s , like hair loss, moon-face, personality quirks (yep, “roid-rage” is real) and sudden excess weight gain.

l will take my strides and progress, take my walking stick/staff across the street, whilst wearing my red head-scarf🧣 ….like a crown.👑 🤍

Here’s to taking our best strides in life happenings, and not forgetting
our crown!🤍😉

Wrapping up this “what a busy week” kind of week…with gratitude.

Gratitude for the peace-producing lessons and graces through each of my daily bread in the week.

In particular, for recognizing my moments in survivor mode much more quickly, with ease, and kindness, and seeking, holding steadfast in my lean for thriving mode (ok, sometimes in close proximity).

Sure, it took some hefty releasing of steam - chronic overthinking, fear, worry, shame, guilt, self-pity & loathing, rants, blaming, tears and hysteria outbursts. Not my finest moments by some standards, yet my finest fertile ground.

And I got there - that state where my well-being ROCKS & RULES - enough times in this week to declare, “Way to go Mer, now dance.”

In case you need this, as I did and will always…

With love. 🤍

A throwback gift of imperfectly perfect, with a whole lotta love.

Recently, a cross-border soul sister sent me this handcrafted mobile she made as a “care” gift to let me know she’s thinking of me during my recovery from this nasty Lupus “flare.” This gift was inspired by a warm FaceTime connection that inspired her artistic creativity with love, and my love for articulating expressed love.

The mobile was designed to hang from ceiling to ground so that the strung words would line up in the intended order for the declaration:

“I CHOOSE TO FIND MOMENTS OF PEACE AND JOY IN THE MIDST OF TODAY’S DAILY BREAD”.

So, this was the outcome – it hangs along my bamboo divider in my office, the only wall decoration I can install (hello, the divider leans against a wall, easy peasy!). The words are not lined up perfectly, and one has to read it from right to left - mind the upside down words too.

To me, this mobile and display as it is, reminds me of “The Beautiful Mess Effect” - the theory that people view their own vulnerability as weakness but others’ vulnerability as courage. It was developed by Anna Bruk, Sabine G. Scholl and Herbert Bless from the University of Mannheim (published in 2018 Journal of Personality and Social Psychology and building on the work of Brene Brown) and a brilliant reminder gem that the beauty of “messy” lies in embracing authentic human experience, vulnerability, and imperfection over forced perfection. It recognizes that true creativity, growth, and joy emerge from chaos, allowing for genuine connections and spontaneous moments rather than curated, sterile and contrived aesthetics.

Messy is brilliantly beautiful. Human. Enriching. Meaningful. Here’s to blessings within and all around, where we recognize and appreciate the beauty in imperfectly perfect moments. Because they fortify our resilience, patience, acceptance, faith, growth and steadiness in peace, joy, love. Even and especially when we and “things” do not line up the way we expect or want them to. A beautiful life is like that.🤍

I’ve got the look! 📸
What I look like on the inside when I choose to “let it go” to flow forward without losing my “marbles” from life’s doozy happenings. 🤭

When life happens, the unpredictable - those often uncontrollable events that occur - require us to choose how we respond.

We choose either reactively or proactively (yes, we choose either). It emphasizes that while we cannot control circumstances, we can influence how we navigate ourselves through circumstances and events.

We decide how to respond to life’s challenges.

It takes discernment before acting on a decision. It takes navigating through unexpected, sometimes difficult, situations and their accompanying emotional charges.

The proactive choice starts with a pause, to foster resilience, manage the feelings from emotions that come up, through acceptance and gratitude, one moment at a time.

So, let’s get out there and live life without losing our marbles. Life happens.

Choose wisely, flow forward, take the craziest look it leaves you with, from the inside, out, because it matters.🤍
