The arrow in the photo shows where the key issue is.

The entire foot isn’t visible and the full weight-bearing pattern can’t be seen, but the position of the second toe already provided enough information:
👉 there is lateral pressure being placed on the big toe.
This side-directed mechanical force also loads the nail edge and causes micro-movements between the nail plate and the nail bed. As a result, a mechanically induced, partial separation of the nail plate may develop along the side.

In the early stages this condition can still be reversible. However, if the incorrect loading pattern has been present for a long time — even for years — full resolution cannot be guaranteed. In such cases we speak more about improvement and stabilization rather than complete correction.

Possible solutions to the problem:
1️⃣ Having a custom orthotic insole made and actually wearing it, to correct the loading pattern.
2️⃣ If that doesn’t bring sufficient change, a toe spacer may also be considered to prevent the toes from crowding together in the toe box of the shoe.

This phenomenon often decreases in summer, which strongly supports a mechanical origin: in more open footwear there is less lateral pressure, and the load on the nail plate is reduced.
In cases like this, treatment alone is not the solution. First the root cause needs to be addressed, and only then is it worth moving forward with further treatment if necessary.

Not to mention that clients often notice only one nail, while that nail may actually be signaling an incorrect gait pattern.
A faulty gait leads to poor load distribution and inadequate support, since body weight is transferred through the foot during walking.
If this loading pattern is not optimal, not only the nail may “display” the problem — the knee, ankle, lower back, neck, or shoulders may also give signals — but few people connect the two.

In many cases, a properly designed custom orthotic alone could already help change this entire chain! 👣

Well-cared-for feet are the foundation of a healthy mind and self-confidence! 👣

🌸Clavus vascularis: Vascular corn.🌸
It can develop anywhere on the foot where there is extreme pressure. Due to the strong pressure, the small blood vessels beneath the corn become affected, which can lead to inflammation or bleeding.
Factors that increase the risk of developing it include:
– abnormal pressure points on the foot
– hammer toe
– neuropathy
– limited foot mobility
– orthopedic deformities

After removing the corn, it is necessary to offload (reduce pressure on) the treated area. If needed, custom orthotic insoles may be recommended to help prevent future corns from forming.

🌺Being a pedicurist is much more than cutting nails or making feet look pretty. This profession is about humility, patience, helpfulness, and empathy.

A pedicurist does not judge. They don’t criticize a client for neglected feet, but instead help with professionalism, kindness, and acceptance. After all, many people—because of their age, health conditions, or life circumstances—cannot manage foot care on their own.

Our mission is:
✨ to care,
✨ to bring relief,
✨ and, when necessary, to guide—whether that means referring to a doctor, dermatologist, or another specialist.

A pedicurist creates real value: they contribute to the client’s quality of life, comfort, and self-confidence. Above all, it’s empathy that matters most. 🌺

Can I paint my toenails if I have fungus?

🌺It's generally not recommended to paint toenails if you have a fungal infection because nail polish can trap moisture and potentially worsen the infection.

🌺Topical antifungal treatments may be less effective if nail polish is worn because the medication may not pe*****te the nail as well.

🌺If you choose to wear nail polish, try to limit the wear time to special occasions and remove it promptly afterward.

🌺 Why Does a Toenail Change Shape? It’s Not Always the Nail’s Fault.

Sometimes an orthopedic issue is behind it — like a toe leaning inward and constantly pressing against the big toe. This pressure can:
-distort the nail’s shape
-lift it from the nail bed
-shrink the nail bed and cause gradual deformation

🌸Not every nail problem is fungal or injury-related. Often, toe deformities, fallen arches, or misalignments are to blame.

👣 That’s why a full foot assessment matters! A nail close-up alone won’t reveal the real cause. We need to check the whole foot, how you walk, and how your feet carry weight.

Healthy, cared-for feet are the foundation of confidence.

Almost every day question that is shellac the same as gel?

🌺Shellac🌺 is a brand of gel nail polish, but it's not the same as all gel manicures. Shellac is a mix of gel and traditional nail polish.

Similarities:
*Both shellac and gel are semi-permanent manicures that are cured under a UV lamp
*Both shellac and gel require file or acetone to remove

Differences:
*Shellac is thinner and softer than gel
*Shellac is easier to remove than gel
*Shellac is more likely to chip than gel
*Shellac is gentler on nails than gel

Let's talk about 🌺Corn🌺

Do you have thick, hard skin on your feet?
This is called a callus or corn. It happens when your skin tries to protect itself from pressure or rubbing. Usually, calluses are on the bottom of your feet, and CORNS are on top (near your toes) or on the foot ball or heel area.

The main cause of calluses and corns is wearing shoes that don't fit well. But it can also be because of the way you walk or the shape of your feet.

If you have a callus or corn, you can try to make it feel better by cushioning it with a soft material like moleskin or cotton. You can buy special products at the pharmacy that can help too. Another option is to get custom shoe inserts that can help take some pressure off your feet.

Let me know if you have any other questions or if there's anything else I can help with!

What does corn look like in feet?

Corns are smaller and deeper than calluses and have a hard center surrounded by swollen skin. They can be painful when pressed. Hard corns often form on the top of the toes or the outer edge of the small toe. Soft corns tend to form between the toes.
