The Maybelline Superlock Brow gel is long wearing, fantastic hold and doesn't flake. It's strong enough to laminate with and comes in colored shades as well as clear.

Maybelline Superstay 30hr Lumi Matte Foundation is a gorgeous all day wear foundation. It really mimics a satin finish that the skin has naturally. It does oxidize so choose a shade lighter than your natural skin tone or else it may be too deep once it dries down. If your skin type is on the drier side naw sure to lay a rich moisturizer down first to prevent patchiness.

Essence Lash Princess Liquid liner in brown. I wouldn't use this in my professional kit but I love it for myself. The reason I wouldn't use it in my kit is: it can crumble and flake when touched. It also does not perform as well if you attempt to layer it. So if you are not an experienced liner queen there are better options out there on the market for you!

Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink Lip has been a kit staple of mine for years! It has a great shade range, stays put and is easy to use. 10/10

Lastly NYX Lip IV. You can use it as an all day liner, a gloss and let it fade into a stain, or leave it for 1-5 minutes and blot away the gloss for an all day stain. Doesn't crack and color goes on evenly and is never patchy.

I took a last minute appointment at the store Saturday.
Her brother called to book the appointment.
I explained the policy and he accepted.
She showed up 90 minutes early- I should have knows that was a 🚩
We had a slight language barrier but I am nothing if not confident that we could make it work!!
I asked what kind of makeup she would like and she said "natural"
To which I responded: can you show me what that means to you?
These were the images she showed me (I apologize for not crediting the artists who created these stunning makeups. I was only provided the images and not the artists names as well. These are not my work and I am not taking credit for their beauty. If you know who's work this is please feel free to take the artists in the comments so they can be credited for THEIR work!)
I explained that this is not natural makeup. This is a full beat glam style of makeup, which I am capable and confident in doing.
3 hours folks. She was in the chair for 3 hours.
We work alone in my store and run the department. Anytime a customer walks in I step away to offer them service (this was agreed upon when the appointment was booked).
I can not emphasize enough how important it is to ask questions when someone new sits in your chair!!
Had I not requested images I would have created a very different makeup look.
In the end I believe the client was happy but wasn't happy that they were there for 3 hours.
If you know that this is the style of makeup you are looking for I would implore you to book in privately with an artist. If it had been a private booking it would have taken me 90 minutes or less.
Just a reminder you do get what you pay for.
I was under the impression that they went this route because they didn't want to pay the price of what this service would have cost if they had booked an artist.
I am not posting their picture because I'm not here to make anyone feel shame or to point fingers l.
The purpose of this post is: the importance of communication and expectations.
Did her makeup look gorgeous? Yes.
Did I feel bad about the time it took to create? Yes.
Will I allow this person to book again? No.

I am currently obsessed with cleansing balm.
I know I joke about wearing a lot of makeup - but seriously, I do.
Double cleansing is so important when you're a makeup wearer.
The first cleanse breaks down and removes the makeup - the second wash actually cleanses your skin.
What I love about this cleansing balm is that I can also use it on my eyes. It does all the heavy work for me, it breaks down even the toughest of waterproof eye makeup.
This is 💯 a buy.

I have been obsessed with these since they launched!!! xpress/on nails are hands down my favorite brand for an instant manicure. Their nails are long wearing, durable and most importantly reusable.
I am a busy mom and often don't have the time or funds for a mani (I prioritize pedicures, I work on my feet and they need alllll the love they can get)!
These take minutes to apply, wear for up to 14 days, and are made from recycled materials.

I just finished 2 different oil based cleanser.
The milky oil cleanser and the cleansing balm.
Both claim to remove makeup while leaving the skin supple and hydrated.
Would I buy them again?!
The Byoma took 3 pumps to cleanse my face which seemed excessive in my opinion. It contains rosemary leaf oil - which although is a pleasing aroma - isn't amazing on the eyes.
The Elf cleansing balm does contain fragrance - but it's so unnoticeable I didn't realize until I googled it.
It is eye safe as well.
I love a cleansing oil/balm and almost always use one to remove my makeup as my first step in a double cleanse.
I would absolutely repurchase the cleansing balm. It's extremely affordable and does a great job breaking down a full beat face of makeup.
For me the didn't quite hit the mark - I'm sure for others it's an amazing product but for me - it's a Bye 👋🏼 (not a buy).

For my beauties on a budget!!!
If you love BTS mascara but it's not in the budget here are two great alternatives that are a little more budget friendly!
Falsies lash lift has a similar style brush but not quite as much product deposit as the BTS. This means you can build the bulk of your aren't looking for that signature lash loading that BTS has.
Less clump for your buck!canada lash paradise is an even closer version (IMO) similar wand, great volume and an even better price!

I think as a client who NEVER wears makeup the scariest part of sitting in the makeup chair is the fear of not being heard.
Imagine having gone your entire life not wearing makeup - or, having your makeup done and feeling bad about yourself after the experience.
As an experienced artist I generally take on the MOB and MOG - I absolutely LOVE (yes with all caps) doing makeup on mature women. I always have and always will.
Moms are forever putting themselves on the bottom of the list of people they need to care for.
So by the time it's their turn to shine.... they often feel rusty, or unworthy. I am here to shout it from the rooftops - you deserve to feel beautiful, you are beautiful, I understand your worries and I am here to make you look like your best self!!!!

The funniest thing I have ever heard from a client came from her mouth "oh my god I am so hot. You better watch your men tonight - someone take my picture so we can remember how hot I look. We can use the picture for my obituary so everyone can remember how hot I look". 😂😂😂😂
That right there, that moment, will stay with me forever.
