Well Alison finally got her Puja Table, it came out really nice though

The start of an Umzi Puja Table. Akong Rinpoche designed it. Great presence of scale, when followed it gives great results.
The 1st picture shows the main pieces in the rough. They came from a plank of French Oak. The Puja Table weighs 20kgs at the moment. The next two pictures show the rough mock up just to see if the grain flows and is balanced also a chance to show a VERY patient client that it is in progress. It does not yet show its form though as all the joints have not been revealed.
The 4th & 5th picture shows the beautiful markings some quarter sawn flickers like flames.After leaving the boards to destress I leave them overnight then plane up the edges and put them in clamps for the next 24hrs.Thats the last two photos.

Two Puja Tables in white Oak, both are made to customers sizes. They are still to be oiled and a rubbed wax finish.
