Every client receives a consultation before treatment because not every skin lesion is suitable for Advanced Cosmetic Procedures (ACP).

Sometimes I'll recommend monitoring it.

Sometimes I'll ask for GP approval.

Sometimes I'll suggest Map My Mole first.

My priority is always your safety before treatment.

"I've had this for years! I wish I'd known it could be treated?"

That's one of the most common things I hear from new clients.

Whether it's a skin tag that catches on your clothing, a cherry angioma that's always bothered you, facial thread veins, milia, or another common skin blemish, many people simply don't realise that treatment may be possible.

You don't need to know the medical name for it.

That's my job.

My role is to assess your concern honestly, explain your options, and let you know whether treatment is suitable for you. If I don't believe I can achieve a good result, I'll always tell you.

MYTH vs FACT

"If I dye my white hair darker, laser hair removal will work."

Unfortunately, it won't.

Laser hair removal works by targeting melanin, the natural pigment inside the hair follicle.

Dark hairs contain high levels of a pigment called eumelanin, which absorbs the laser energy effectively. This allows the follicle to be heated and damaged, helping to reduce future hair growth.

White and grey hairs contain little or no melanin, while red hairs contain a different type of pigment that doesn't absorb laser energy as effectively. Blonde hairs also usually contain too little pigment for reliable results.

Dyeing the hair darker only changes the colour of the hair above the skin. It doesn't change the pigment inside the follicle, so it won't make laser treatment effective.

One promise I always make my clients is honest advice.

If I don't believe a treatment is likely to give you good results, I'll always tell you. I'd rather explain why something isn't suitable than recommend a treatment that isn't in your best interests.
