It is great to see that more attention is being given to Vitamin D in potentially reducing the risk of coronavirus and helping to fight infections. At least 1 in 5 people in the UK are deficient in Vitamin D. Common symptoms of vitamin d deficiency include fatigue/ tiredness, bone and muscle pain (including back pain), depression, hair loss and impaired wound healing. Check if your multi-vitamin includes D3. And check out the dminder app which allows you to input some data and track your vitamin D status!

Be careful in how you use anti-depressant drugs
Short term use of anti-depressant drugs can be beneficial however long term use can be detrimental. Anti-depressants change the location of serotonin (which regulates mood) and dopamine (which affects pleasure and motivation) from within the neuron to outside it which causes the amount of serotonin and dopamine to decrease, and can lead to long term addiction. Alternatively, a nutrient replacement programme can increase the levels of serotonin and dopamine in the synapse and open reuptake receptors in order to help restore a feeling of well-being.

CANCER - THERE IS HOPE FOR THE FUTURE...
What is cancer? Cancer doesn’t develop in a healthy body nor is it something we just happen to get. Cancer takes many years to develop and stems from underlying imbalances, which disrupt the normal regulation of our body’s cells to grow, divide and die naturally. Cancer cells are continually produced; however, in a healthy person their immune system recognises the abnormal cells and destroys them before they grow further.

Soluble vs. insoluble fibre; what's the difference?
We all know eating fibre from vegetables helps us have healthy bowel movements. Fibre is found in fruit, vegetables, beans, lentils and whole grains such as oats and brown rice. There are two types of fibre; soluble and insoluble, both of which are not digested and absorbed into your bloodstream. Because they are undigested they provide zero calories to your diet. https://www.prestovita.com/ever-wondered-what-s-the-difference-between-soluble-and-insoluble-fibre
