This client had the cups on for around 15 minutes post-massage with only some minor bruising. The light pink colour suggests the tissues mostly have healthy circulation and little stagnation (picture 5). After a few days the bruising had mainly developed on the left side (picture 4) which reflected where we found the most tension during the massage.

Dry cupping is a treatment often used in conjunction with massage, where the cups are placed on areas of the body and a pump is used to create suction causing negative pressure. It draws blood to the surface hence why you may come out with some bruising, though it is generally painless.
