Are you aware of the climacteric scale?
The Climacteric Scale is essential for understanding the impact of menopause on women's lives and for creating effective management strategies.
The scale consists of 21 questions that are grouped into 3 subsections: Psychological Symptoms, Somatic Symptoms and Vasomotor Symptoms.
If you are finding it hard to manage your symptoms and are not getting the support you need from your GP then keep a track of your symptoms using the scale and present it to your GP.
The GP will probably want you to complete the scale every week over a course of 4 to 6 weeks to see how your symptoms fluctuate or change.

The discussion points out that perimenopause, a transitional period before menopause marked by significant hormonal changes, is often under-researched and misunderstood, leading to inadequate healthcare support for women experiencing it.
Perimenopause involves fluctuating hormone levels, particularly higher oestrogen and lower progesterone, which can cause symptoms like hot flashes, mood swings, and sleep disturbances. Despite these well-documented symptoms, there's a significant gap in comprehensive research and effective treatments tailored for perimenopausal women. This gap is attributed to a broader trend of medical research historically prioritising male health issues, thus marginalising women's health concerns.
Now that it appear that the ovaries may hold the key to longevity, there may actually be more funding available for women's healthcare!
However, by focusing on education, self-care, and advocating for more comprehensive research, women can better manage their perimenopausal symptoms and improve their overall well-being. This approach not only empowers women but also calls for a more inclusive and equitable healthcare system that adequately addresses the unique health needs of women.

What a beautiful day we had on the beach.
Maggie Fordham and I, Lesley Fettes have created a new tradition of having our board meetings on the beach!
This year we had four mad dogs with us! They loved it too 🥰
It is so good for us to get away, spend time together, and relax as well as plan for the year ahead.
What an exciting year it is going to be too.
We will be expanding what we offer this year to include:
1) a complete online course, 6 modules for you to work through at your own pace to help balance your hormones
2) a workbook for you to learn all our principles on how to balance your hormones to use on its own or with the online course
3) More website content, a dedicated resources area on our website for you to delve into and learn how to manage nutrition and exercise
4) A FREE live 5 session course launching in September, join our private Facebook group to find out more and to access the sessions
5) Our next 10 week programme with personal coaching from Maggie and Myself starts 24 September, enquires are open for this with only 10 spaces left. DM us for details.
6) Working with other professionals in the women's Wellness arena to bring another level of knowledge and experise to our courses.

Thank you to Hughes Hall, University of Cambridge, for their Women's Wellness Event.
It was such a great event, talking along side in real life and representing Healthy and Happy Hormones.
It was a honour to be part of an event to support women around menopause.
There were so many questions and between Pat and myself we managed to cover them all and more.
Events like these are so important so that people can be signed posted to the right information, to be given reliable information and to know what they are entitled to.
