Neshama’s new boxes are handcrafted in Tuscany, Italy.

Wrapped in embossed card once reserved for antique book covers. We obsessively refined their design, going back and forth, until they were meticulously crafted to showcase our perfumes.

At Neshama, naturals are the soul of our craft. Souls On Fire is among the rare perfumes in the world to feature genuine civet - a treasured note from the golden age of perfumery. We believe in preserving this olfactory heritage, for nothing compares to the depth, warmth, and complexity of the authentic material. Synthetic civet, by contrast, is harsh, sharp, and lacks the soulful nuance that nature alone can create.

By working directly with civet farmers, we not only honour tradition but also encourage the modernisation of their practices - just as we did with ethically sourced eggs. In this way, we protect a precious art form while shaping its future with responsibility and respect.

Scent profiles of Labdanum Absolute vs. Labdanum Resinoid:

Labdanum is, in many ways, a perfume in its own right - complex, warm, and evocative. The absolute offers a refined expression of this ingredient, with a lemony, wine-like opening that unfolds into a rich, honeyed heart. In perfumery, it behaves much like musk, softening edges and harmonising other notes. The decolourised absolute is slightly cleaner in profile, lending a subtle elegance to compositions.

The resinoid, by contrast, is deeper and more phenolic - an opulent, resinous version of labdanum that brings greater weight and character. We pictured the latter here to show you how it looks like in real life. You can also see it's consistency in the previously published video as well.

Resinoid is the one I choose for my Jasmine and To***co creation, where its richness weaves effortlessly into the fabric of the scent.
