Hi everyone. I’m really pleased to announce that I am taking on two challenges in 2026 to raise money for the largest grant making breast cancer charity in the UK.
My first challenge is to do my first ever half marathon in Rochford on the 8th February 2026 and then the all famous Moon walk on the 16th May 2026.
I have never run a a half marathon before. Since moving to Hockley I have started regularly doing the 5k at HOCKLEY woods which I never find easy so doing a half marathon will certainly be challenging.
I have done the midnight Ben Nevis challenge and a couple of 10 mile walks for charity before but have never walked as far as 26 miles.
My daughter (after some gentle persuasion) has agreed to do the half marathon with me and a great bunch of work colleagues are also going to do the moon walk with me…thank god 🤪
Please help support me by donating whatever you can afford to the great cause.
I will post weekly updates on how I am getting on. My training started this weekend.
Thank you all for your support 🥰

BOOKINGS ARE NOW LIVE FOR THE SANTA BUS 2023🎅🚌

Come along and meet Santa, tell him what you want for christmas, join in with some festive crafts and enjoy some free refreshments.

Santa will be visiting 17 locations this year.

Funded by The Community Partnership Fund and in partnership with the Essex Children and Families Wellbeing Service. Booking is needed to meet Santa, adults don't need to book.

Book your tickets! https://libraries.essex.gov.uk/news/the-santa-bus-is-back

This initiative aims to not only target families who may not have the chance to attend a santa experience this year, but it also works as a tool to engage children with literacy in new and exciting ways.

During their visit with Santa, children will have the opportunity to read a book with him and talk about what they want for Christmas this year. They are then taken into the library to do crafts and Santa’s elves will help children sign up to the library or pick out a book to read over the winter period.
