I've been diagnosed with severe Alopecia areata since the age of 17 when I realized I was losing more hair than other girls.

Alopecia, known to the laymen as 'bald spots' is one of those diseases that causes no 'physical pain' but inflicts huge psychological damage to one's confidence and self-esteem.

For years, I would wear toppers (wigs) to school, shopping malls, when I'm out with my friends, I just wanted to feel like I belonged.

Because the truth is, being bald and being a 17-year-old girl just doesn't feel right.

But the worst part of all is, Alopecia is an autoimmune disease. It can be suppressed through treatments but not cured entirely.

How else would you tell your body to stop destroying your own hair follicles?

You can't.

And at that time, it seemed like the beginning of a nightmare for a teenager like me, who wants to dress up, look pretty, feel pretty and be called pretty.

The reality is, for the most part of life it never really turns out the way you want it to.

Until of course, good news comes swooping in when my mom got me a bottle of this growth serum to try.

I dripped about 4 to 5 drops a day, treated my hair with love by talking to it (sounds ridiculous) but soon enough I was into my 4th bottle (think about 7 months in) and I started realizing less hair was falling after combing and taking a bath.
