I thought I was filling a few empty hours when my youngest started nursery.

Instead, I found a purpose I never expected.

What began as a search for something gentler for my daughter’s eczema became a business, a passion, and a community I’m so grateful for.

The internet makes small businesses look polished.

But behind every bar of soap is usually someone questioning themselves, changing plans, making mistakes, and hoping people love what they’ve created.

This week I’m choosing progress over perfection.

And I’m willing to bet I’m not the only one.

✨ If you’ve ever overthought something that turned out just fine, this is your reminder to keep going.

I used to stand in the shop reading every ingredient label, hoping this one would finally be gentle enough for my daughter’s skin.

After so many reactions and flare ups, I started making my own soap instead.
Simple ingredients. Rich oils. Nothing unnecessary.

What began for her eczema slowly became something other mums started asking for too .

If you’re in that exhausting stage of trying product after product, you’re not alone — sometimes simpler really is better. And it does get better 🤍

Just a simple little moment of calm for your scroll today 🌿

No loud trends or chaos. Just the sound of freshly made soap being cut into perfect bars.

Sometimes the slow, handmade moments are the best ones ✨

Still slightly blown away by all the new faces here this week 🥹

I get messages about how to go about starting to make soap or about soap making in general . Always here to help. I only gate keep the actual recipe and measurements i use , everything else - I’m an open book 🥰

One minute I’m making soap, the next I’m questioning recipes I’ve used for years, planning 12 future products, worrying about social media, mentally writing shopping lists and wondering if I replied to that message.

Running a small handmade business while being a mum means my brain is rarely quiet 😂

But then I cut into a fresh loaf of soap, smell those essential oils, see those creamy bars curing on the rack… and I remember why I started this in the first place.

Slow handmade soap, made in the Scottish Highlands, with a lot of thought, care… and occasional overthinking 😄
