What’s the difference between a Bikini, Brazilian & Hollywood laser treatment?

A Bikini treatment removes hair from around the sides of the bikini line and the top of the p***c area. Perfect for those who want a natural look while keeping everything neat and tidy outside the underwear line.

🌸 Brazilian
A Brazilian removes most of the p***c hair while leaving a small strip at the front (often called a Brazilian strip). It’s ideal for those who want more hair removed than a Bikini treatment but don’t want to go completely bare.

A Hollywood removes all hair from the entire p***c area, including the front, sides, and between the buttocks. This is the smoothest option for those who prefer complete hair removal.

☀️ HEATWAVE & LASER TREATMENTS: WHY A TAN CAN AFFECT YOUR RESULTS ☀️

One of the most common misconceptions is that if a laser machine can safely treat skin types I-VI, then sun exposure doesn’t matter. The reality is that while modern laser technology is designed to treat all skin types safely, a recent tan can still impact both the safety and effectiveness of your treatment.

Laser settings are carefully selected based on your natural skin type and the amount of pigment (melanin) present in your skin. When you develop a tan, your skin contains more melanin than usual, meaning your practitioner may need to adjust the laser settings to reflect your temporarily darker skin tone.

Why does this matter?

The more pigment present in the skin, the more laser energy is absorbed by the skin itself rather than being directed towards the hair follicle or treatment target. To protect the skin from adverse reactions such as burns, blistering, or pigmentation changes, practitioners often need to reduce the energy levels used during treatment.

This means that although the treatment can still be performed safely, it may not be as effective as it would be on your natural skin type.

⚠️ A recent tan can result in:
• Lower treatment settings being required
• Reduced energy reaching the hair follicle
• Less effective hair reduction per session
• Additional treatments being needed to achieve the same results
• Increased risk of pigmentation issues if higher settings are used

Think of it this way: if your natural skin type is a Type II but you arrive with a tan that makes your skin appear closer to a Type IV, we must treat the skin we see on the day and not your natural skin type. While this keeps the treatment safe, it may mean you’re not receiving the most optimal settings for maximum results.

For the best outcomes, we always recommend avoiding excessive sun exposure before and after your appointments and wearing a high-protection SPF daily.
