For me, it isn’t about using the most ingredients.

It’s about choosing the right ingredients and making sure each one has a purpose.

When creating our Overnight Lip Balm, I wanted something that felt deeply nourishing and comforting, helping lips feel softer and smoother by morning.

Every ingredient you see in this reel was chosen intentionally for its ability to support, nourish and protect the lips overnight.

Because whilst we sleep, our skin naturally switches into repair mode - and our lips deserve the same care ✨

There’s something incredibly satisfying about this part of the process 🤍

Every loaf is stamped by hand after it’s been poured, left to rest, unmoulded, cut and carefully checked.

What many people don’t see is that handmade soap takes weeks before it’s ready to use. Long before a bar reaches your bathroom, it’s been mixed, poured, cured and finished by hand in small batches.

It’s a slower way of making skincare, but it’s one of the things I love most about it 🤍

No two loaves are ever completely identical - and I think that’s part of the beauty of handmade products ✨

Did you know soap takes weeks to make?

It might sound strange, but there are a few reasons this can happen:

✨ Your shower is too hot

Hot water can strip away some of the skin’s natural oils, leaving it feeling tight, dry or uncomfortable afterwards.

✨ You’re spending too long in the shower

Long exposure to water can actually increase moisture loss from the skin once you step out and dry off.

✨ Your cleanser may be too harsh

If your skin feels squeaky clean after washing, it could be a sign that your cleanser is removing more than just dirt and excess oil.

✨ You’re waiting too long to moisturise

Applying a moisturiser or body butter shortly after showering can help support moisture retention while the skin is still slightly damp.

The good news?

You don’t necessarily need a more complicated routine.

Sometimes small changes to how you cleanse and care for your skin can make a noticeable difference 🤍

I’m Rachel, founder of Lina Skincare, mum of three little people, and someone who has spent years navigating sensitive skin and psoriasis.

What started as a search for products that worked for my own skin became a passion for creating natural, handmade skincare that feels luxurious, effective and gentle.

Lina Skincare is named after my husband’s late Nonna, Lina, whose values of simplicity, quality and sustainability continue to inspire everything we do.

Every product is handmade in small batches, using carefully chosen ingredients and without the unnecessary extras.

Your skin has different needs during the day and at night - and your lips are no different.

☀️ By day:
Your lips are exposed to sun, wind, air conditioning (if you have it!) and everything else the day throws at them. A lighter, protective balm helps keep them feeling comfortable and hydrated throughout the day.

🌙 By night:
This is when your skin naturally switches into repair mode. A richer overnight balm helps support moisture retention while you sleep, so you wake up with lips that feel softer, smoother and more comfortable.

Especially during warmer weather, when lips can become dehydrated surprisingly quickly, I love keeping both on hand.

Both body lotions and body butters absolutely have their place - it just depends on what your skin needs.

Body lotions are typically lighter and water-based, making them great for quick, everyday hydration.

Body butters, on the other hand, are usually richer and more concentrated in nourishing oils and butters, which means they help support the skin barrier and lock in moisture for longer.

That’s why body butter can feel especially comforting for skin that feels:

✨ dry
✨ tight
✨ compromised
✨ or in need of deeper nourishment

When creating ours, I wanted them to feel deeply nourishing and supportive without becoming heavy or greasy on the skin.

Because sometimes hydration alone isn’t enough - the skin also needs lasting nourishment and protection 🤍
