‘M’-shaped lips are notoriously difficult to treat and are something of a speciality of mine.
The difficulty arises from the fact that the lips appear very thin and narrow with inversion at the outer edges. A standard single method approach to filling just isn’t going to cut it and may end up resulting in the notorious ‘duck lip’.
In one sitting, I took a 3-step approach using the technique that I have devised specifically for ‘M’-shaped lips. This combines the use of cannula and needle to inject 0.7mls of Stylage Lips Plus to first evert and widen the lip, then increasing the height of the cupids bow and finishing by adding volume to give a natural, well proportioned and balanced lip.
This lovely client was delighted.

Sunscreens are an essential part of any skincare routine, as they help to protect the skin from the harmful effects of the sun's ultraviolet (UV) rays. As the SPF number only indicates protection against UVB, or “burning” rays, it doesn’t tell the full story as protection from the UVA “ageing” rays is also important for anti-ageing purposes. That’s why I recommend ‘broad spectrum’ physical sunscreens as opposed to SPF 50 chemical sunscreens.

Physical sunscreens, also known as mineral sunscreens, are made with active ingredients like zinc oxide or titanium dioxide. These ingredients work by physically blocking the sun's UV rays, reflecting them away from the skin.

Chemical sunscreens, on the other hand, contain active ingredients like oxybenzone or avobenzone, which work by absorbing the UV rays and converting them into heat, which is then released from the skin.

A major advantage of physical sunscreens is that they provide immediate protection upon application because they work by physically blocking the UV rays, rather than relying on a chemical reaction to provide protection. In contrast, chemical sunscreens can take up to 20 minutes to start working, as they need to be absorbed into the skin before they can start protecting it.

Another benefit of physical sunscreens is that they are generally more gentle on the skin. Because they don't absorb they are a good choice for those with sensitive skin or for those who are prone to allergic reactions. Chemical sunscreens are more likely to cause skin irritation.

Physical sunscreens are generally better at protecting against UVA rays than chemical sunscreens, making them a more comprehensive choice for sun protection.
