Many mothers arrive at starting solids carrying questions from their baby’s earliest days.
Perhaps your baby was born by C-section.
Perhaps they received antibiotics at birth.
Perhaps you’ve already experienced eczema, reflux, digestive discomfort or simply that feeling of wondering whether there’s more you could be doing.
The good news?
Starting solids isn’t about perfection.
It’s about understanding the foundations that help you move forward with confidence.
That’s why I created Golden Starts Foundations™.
A self-paced programme designed to help you understand the principles behind gut-first nourishment, real food and confident decision-making before your baby’s first bite.
Because confidence comes from understanding the why.

If I was newly postpartum again, this is where I’d start.
Not with pressure.
Not with expectations.
Not with trying to get back to who I was before.
I would start with nourishment.
The seasons of pregnancy, postpartum and preparing to start solids ask so much of us as mothers.
Physically.
Emotionally.
Mentally.
And yet so many of us are taught to focus on everyone else’s needs before our own.
For me, one of the simplest ways to create a feeling of nourishment, steadiness and support was a pot of meat stock simmering gently in the kitchen.
Whether it’s as warming drink or a healing base for soups and sauces…
Not because it was perfect.
Not because I did everything right.
But because it became a simple rhythm that carried us through pregnancy, postpartum, Lucas’s eczema journey and later into Isabelle’s first foods.
This is exactly why I created Meat Stock Made Simple™.
For the pregnant mamma.
For the postpartum mamma.
For the mamma who wants to begin building nourishing foundations before the first spoon ever arrives.
Because nourishment isn’t something we earn.
It’s something we deserve.

If I was pregnant again tomorrow, this is where I’d start.
Not with baby gadgets.
Not with endless hours of research.
Not with complicated meal plans.
I’d start by putting a stock pot on the stove.
Because this one simple habit has supported our family through Lucas’s eczema journey, pregnancy, postpartum recovery, Isabelle’s first foods and beyond.
It became more than a recipe.
It became a rhythm.
A simple act of nourishment that gently shaped the way we feed ourselves and our children.
That’s why I created Meat Stock Made Simple™.
For the mamma who wants somewhere simple to begin.
For the mamma who knows nourishment starts long before the first spoon.

Three of the very first foods Isabelle ate weren’t baby rice, fruit purées or packaged pouches.
They were:
🤎 Meat stock
🤎 Healthy animal fats
🤎 Liver
Not because I wanted to follow a trend.
Because I wanted to nourish her with the foods that have supported growing babies for generations.
Meat stock provides naturally occurring collagen and gelatin with amino acids and minerals that help support gut health and digestion.
Healthy fats provide the building blocks for growth, development and satiety.
Liver is one of nature’s most nutrient-dense foods, rich in vitamin A, iron, choline, folate and B vitamins.
These foods became part of our gut-first foundations long before Isabelle was eating full meals.
And honestly, starting solids felt so much calmer because I wasn’t wondering what to feed her first. I had a framework I trusted.
If you’re pregnant, postpartum, or preparing to start solids in the coming months, I’ve put together my free First Five Foods Guide.

As mothers, we spend so much time thinking about how to nourish the people we love.
But one of the most powerful things we can do is begin by nourishing ourselves.
Over the years, I’ve learned that building strong foundations doesn’t have to be complicated.
It often starts with the simplest habits.
For me, one of those habits has always been meat stock.
It’s something I’ve returned to through pregnancy, postpartum, raising young children and creating nourishing family meals.
Not because it’s trendy.
But because it brings me back to the foundations.
The foods our great-grandparents would recognise.
The foods that nourish deeply.
The foods that support us through the changing seasons of motherhood.
That’s why I’m so excited to share that Meat Stock Made Simple™ is now live.
A practical guide designed to help you confidently make, store and use meat stock at home, so you can bring this nourishing tradition into your own family life.
✨ Includes my Summer Edition Recipe Collection during launch week, featuring 5 nourishing family meals using seasonal ingredients and meat stock.
Because a nourished Mamma is a nourished family. 🤎

🤎
If a pregnant Mamma asked me:
“What’s one simple thing I could start doing now to build stronger foundations?”
My answer would be surprisingly simple.
Meat stock.
Not because it’s trendy.
Not because it’s complicated.
Because for generations it has been used to nourish mothers, babies and growing families.
One pot can become a warming cup alongside lunch.
A nourishing base for soups and family meals.
A simple food to have ready as you prepare for your baby’s first foods.
One of the things I love most about meat stock is that it doesn’t ask for perfection.
You don’t need a complicated meal plan.
You don’t need another supplement cupboard.
You simply need a nourishing habit you can return to again and again.
As mothers, we’re often searching for the next thing to do.
Yet sometimes the strongest foundations come from returning to the simplest traditions.
Simple foods.
Strong foundations.
🤎
Tomorrow, I’ll be sharing something I’ve created to help make meat stock feel simple and achievable for every Mamma.
For generations, there was often a pot gently simmering on the stove.
Not bone broth.
Meat stock.
A traditional nourishing food that has supported mothers, babies and growing families for generations.
Whilst meat stock and bone broth are often grouped together, they aren’t quite the same.
Many people are surprised to learn there is a difference.
Traditionally, meat stock was valued as a gentle, nourishing food for mothers during pregnancy and postpartum, young children, and those needing extra nourishment and support.
One of the things I love most about meat stock is its simplicity.
A warming cup alongside lunch.
A nourishing addition to family meals.
A beautiful foundation as you prepare for your baby’s first foods.
Not another complicated protocol.
Not another supplement to remember.
Just a simple daily ritual that can become part of family life.
Because sometimes the strongest foundations aren’t found in doing more.
They’re found in returning to the simple traditions that have nourished families for generations.
Simple foods. Strong roots. 🤎
If you’re pregnant, postpartum, preparing for starting solids, or looking for a more nourishing way to support your family, follow for more gut-first inspiration.
