We see so much negativity online that I thought I would share an exceptionally positive experience I have had recently with a company called Angel Jackets that I found on line. Their prices are one of those that appear too good to be true.

We have to be so careful these days when searching the internet for specific items, but I took a gamble on a leather jacket I found - £149. There were a good selection of styles & colours, & I also found a £20 discount coupon to use & that worked too & paid by Pay Pal/Credit Card for my security.

I think it took about 10 days to arrive, the leather was really beautiful, both soft supple & a good thickness that you would expect. Sadly it didn't fit my shape so I had to return it.

NB: This is not me at my heaviest.
The larger me in these images, I had already lost 3 stone. The subsequent ones, a further 3 stone. I'd like to lose at least another 3 stone too & I'd still be considerably overweight. Any more than that would be a bonus.

I am not proud of it, but on this "journey", I learned I don't fit into a box. Not literally (haha, maybe a Fridge Freezer box 🤣). Well, if you didn't laugh you would cry!!!

For years, my blood tests regularly returned within normal ranges for diabetes despite suffering horrible hyper & hypo symptoms multiple times a day.

Eventually, it was a dermatologist who diagnosed me with insulin intolerance due to a rash I'd had on my neck for years. I had thought it was just stress. He gave it a long name & said there was nothing licenced to treat it. (Great, story of my life). At that point, I did not understand what being insulin intolerant meant.

In 2021, having gained 8 stone in 2 years, including lack of mobility due to a historic back injury that has come back to haunt me. I went from being pre diabetic to full Type 2, only just, but nevertheless, due to being out of control I'd ballooned & it was official, Type 2 Diabetic.

Diabetes comes with a whole host of additional complications if it's left & gets out of control.

Then the NHS announced jabs being approved for weight loss, so I was first in line. At that point, I did not know they were prescription medications developed for diabetes. I'd been put on the standard go to Metformin, I didnt care, I would do anything to lose weight.

Obtaining this medication however wasn't, & still isn't easy, unless you buy it privately & prices have shot up since the new year, too along with demand can easily exceed £220 every 4 weeks. Sadly, getting it prescribed 2 years on still isn't simple, unlike how it has been portrayed in the media, some hoops to jump thru & still no guarantees. So when the hypers & hypos started again around May last year, I bit the bullet & paid the £150 & started on Mounjaro. These escalate in price subject to strength. 2.5mg, 5mg, 7.5mg, 10mg, 12.5mg & 15mg. Contrary to belief you DO NOT have to increase doses each month. If you are happy with your weight loss you can continue on the same strength & some can tolerate one strength but not the next, it is a suck it & see & whilst you may meet the criteria I cannot stress enough, please let your GP know so it is on your records.

Mounjaro, Wegovy & Saxenda are the 3 prescription diabetic medications approved by the NHS for weight loss. Statistically Mounjaro has the best results.

When you commit to losing weight here's some advice...

TAKE PHOTOS. The one thing you probably won't want to do is to take photos. I'm gutted that I now cannot see my achievement & measure. Weight loss is not all about the number on the scales.

As a side note. These medications will NOT do it for you. You also have to follow a healthy eating diet & coupled with exercise, you can optimise your results. I have a PT I report into daily who keeps my foods in check & I have a very soft exercise/rehabilitation programme & do Aquarobics most days, this helps to give me some mobility although regularly I have days & times of days when being mobile is a challenge.
