May Riddell Therapies is delighted to be attending the very first Scottish Recovery Awards this October 🥳

What a fantastic milestone for Scotland's recovery community. I'm looking forward to celebrating the incredible work taking place across Scotland, connecting with others, and continuing to strengthen partnerships throughout the recovery community 💕

Congratulations and the very best of luck to everyone who is nominated 🏆

I can't wait to be part of what promises to be a very special evening. ✨️

✨ The Scottish Recovery Awards are here. ✨

We are incredibly proud to announce the inaugural Scottish Recovery Awards, taking place in Glasgow on Friday 9 October 2026.

These awards have been created to recognise and celebrate the extraordinary individuals, organisations and communities who make recovery possible across Scotland.

Every day, people working throughout the recovery sector change lives. They offer hope, compassion and unwavering support to individuals and families affected by alcohol and drug use. Too often, these achievements go unnoticed. The Scottish Recovery Awards are our opportunity to change that.

We are also delighted to announce that Lulu will be our keynote speaker for this landmark event. As one of Scotland's most iconic and best-loved performers, we are honoured that Lulu will join us to celebrate the remarkable people whose dedication is helping transform lives across the country.
This promises to be an unforgettable evening of recognition, inspiration and celebration, bringing together people from across Scotland who share one common belief: recovery is possible.

There are still opportunities for organisations to sponsor the inaugural Scottish Recovery Awards and become part of this very special event. To find out more about our sponsorship opportunities, please email [email protected].

Together, let's celebrate the people who make recovery possible.

𝙏𝙤 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙬𝙨 𝙪𝙥 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙨... 𝙏𝙃𝘼𝙉𝙆 𝙔𝙊𝙐 💕

Over the last 18 months since launching May Riddell Therapies, I've had the privilege of supporting people through all kinds of life experiences and transitions, and every message I receive like this reinforces why I do what I do.

These days, there are so many incredible organisations, support services, charities, communities and professionals dedicating their time to supporting people through some of life's most difficult moments. Together, we are all making a real difference by helping people feel heard, supported and less alone.

When I look back on my own journey, I'll always be grateful for the people who listened, supported me and reminded me that change was possible. They helped shape the life I live today.

If you're struggling, please don't suffer in silence. Reaching out isn't a sign of weakness-it's often one of the bravest and most important steps we can take.

Whatever support looks like for you, please know this... You don't have to do it alone 💕

Love & Respect to Harbour Ayrshire 🫡

Today marks FOUR YEARS since Harbour Ayrshire was officially granted charitable status by OSCR.**

It's fitting that our anniversary falls on 4th July—a date often associated with freedom. At Harbour, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to live a life free from the misery, pain and destruction of addiction. That freedom extends not only to those experiencing addiction, but also to the families and loved ones whose lives are so often affected.

Over the past four years, Harbour has grown from an idea into a thriving recovery community that has supported thousands of people across Ayrshire. We've seen lives rebuilt, families reunited, confidence restored and hope returned where it once seemed impossible.

None of this would have been possible without the incredible commitment of so many people. A heartfelt thank you to our founders, trustees, staff, volunteers, partners, funders and supporters. Every one of you has played a vital role in helping Harbour become the organisation it is today.

Together, we've shown that recovery is possible, that communities can come together to create lasting change, and that no one has to face addiction alone.

Here's to the next chapter as we continue to offer hope, opportunity and recovery to those who need it most.

**Happy 4th Birthday, Harbour Ayrshire!** 💙

In June, SRC's Tracey McFall and Natalie Manly presented our Women in Recovery work to the Scottish Healthcare in Custody Network — exploring the specific and often overlapping challenges faced by women affected by drug and alcohol related harm.

The session covered all six of SRC's Women in Recovery themes: children removed, menopause, domestic abuse, gambling, the justice system and neurodiversity. Behind each theme is evidence of a system that is consistently failing women — and clear asks for what needs to change.

The recording is now available to watch, and all of our Women in Recovery resources are free to download.

Keep going and doing the great work you all do there 🩷

💙 Feel Good Friday 💙

Sometimes, the happiest moments are also the simplest. 💙

This week, our staff member David enjoyed lunch at Craigend Resource Centre with some of our participants following our weekly Wellbeing Wednesday Walk. A walk, a chat, a shared meal... it might seem like a small thing, but moments like these can make a world of difference. 🚶‍♂️🥪😊

As the school summer holidays continue, we know that many parents, grandparents and carers are carrying a little extra. Keeping children happy, managing finances, juggling work, and trying to find a moment to breathe can be exhausting.

So this is your reminder...

❤️ You are doing enough.
❤️ You are stronger than you realise.
❤️ It's okay to pause.
❤️ It's okay to ask for help.
❤️ It's okay to put your own wellbeing first sometimes.

Life isn't measured by the big occasions. It's often the quiet moments, the conversations, the smiles, and the people beside us that carry us through the difficult days.

Wherever you are today, we hope you can find a little time for yourself. Go for a walk, enjoy a coffee, hug your loved ones, or simply take a deep breath. You matter too. 🌿

At Inverclyde Faith in Throughcare, we believe that connection, kindness and community are powerful tools for improving wellbeing, and we're proud to create opportunities like our Wellbeing Wednesday Walks where people can come together, support one another and enjoy life's simple pleasures.

If our posts bring a smile to your day or help you feel a little less alone, we'd love your support. Please 👍 Like, 💙 Share and 👥 Follow our page so together we can reach even more people across Inverclyde.

Have a peaceful, happy weekend everyone. You've got this. 💙

𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪?

It's such a simple question.

One of the most common questions we're ever asked.

Yet sometimes, it's also one of the hardest to answer honestly.

𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙤𝙛𝙩𝙚𝙣 𝙙𝙤 𝙬𝙚 𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙬𝙚'𝙧𝙚 "𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙚"...

When we're anything but?

Many people spend years carrying things on their own because they've never felt they had a safe space where they could simply be themselves and speak openly.

𝙎𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚𝙨, 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙜𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙜𝙞𝙛𝙩 𝙬𝙚 𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙤𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙧 𝙖𝙣𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙤𝙣 𝙞𝙨𝙣'𝙩 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙖𝙙𝙫𝙞𝙘𝙚... 𝙄𝙩'𝙨 𝙖 𝙨𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙚 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙛𝙚𝙚𝙡 𝙨𝙖𝙛𝙚 𝙚𝙣𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙚 𝙝𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙩.

At May Riddell Therapies, that's at the heart of every 1:1 Wellbeing Coaching & Support Session ✨️

On Sunday I attended Mic to Hype, a fantastic women's business networking event where each attendee had the opportunity to share a little about themselves and their business.

It was such a lovely afternoon connecting with like-minded women, hearing their stories, celebrating their successes and learning more about the amazing businesses we have around us.

Another great reminder, It's never too late to follow your passions, try something new or believe in yourself a little more. We all have something unique to offer the world.

Thank you to everyone involved for such a welcoming event 💕 Literacy with Lorna What If You Fly-Mindset Coaching

On Saturday I had the pleasure of attending the annual reunion at Castle Craig, where I worked as a Recovery Advocate for three wonderful years.

It was so lovely to catch up with staff, reconnect with former patients and see so many familiar faces. Castle Craig continues to do incredible work, and it's always a privilege to stay connected with such a special community.

These days I also have the pleasure of facilitating a monthly online meditation session for the Castle Craig Alumni, which I genuinely look forward to each month.

This year's guest speaker was my friend, James Docherty from the Scottish Violence Reduction Unit.

James and I first met at my very first recovery meeting 17 years ago, and we've both walked our own recovery journeys ever since. It was wonderful to hear him speak so passionately about trauma-informed practice, lived experience and the importance of how we speak to and treat people with love, dignity and compassion. James has a real gift for making these messages relatable and bringing them to life in a way that truly connects with people. He's someone I've always had a huge amount of respect for, and it was lovely to catch up.

Thank you to everyone at Castle Craig for another wonderful reunion. It was lovely to be back. 💕
