Not long till we find out the results of The Official UK Hair and Beauty Awards 2026. To be honest this year has been wildly busy. So many lessons learnt, good ones. I have barely really had time to focus on how lucky I feel.
I started this with intention to build but not really having any clue on how to start. So looking back feels quite a positive movement. Being nominated and putting myself forward for mobile hair stylist of the year would have once filled me with fear and dread. I’m over the moon to even be recognised as a finalist. I already feel like I’ve won the lottery. Here’s to a forward and upward climb for the rest of 2026 for Amy Allison | King’s Lynn | Hair stylist ♥️

But seriously though, I’ve stepped back alot from Instagram in the last couple of months. Not because my heart hasn’t been in it, but because the expectation and noise that surrounds it all is so far removed from my actual job. The AI inputs, the trending reels and hooks. The algorithms and tags. It’s not what I’m about. I love doing hair and I love to show others what I’m all about and how I work but that’s it! Instagram has been increasingly more difficult to ‘find your people’
So with that in mind I’m going back to basics. Showing you what I do, but the way I want too. Don’t get me wrong there will always be time for a trending reel and a little help with wording from my Ai friend, but we are not worrying about all the other stuff that goes along with it. Because quite honestly, I don’t have the brain capacity or the time. 😂😂😂
