Guanine- crushed shimmery glow

Guanine crystals are obtained from fish scales and swim bladders, commonly added to products such as lipsticks, eyeshadows, nail polish and shimmery creams to give a pearlescent sheen. Are there really crushed fish scales in the makeup? Unfortunately, yes...

How bad could be a sheep’s haircut?




Lanolin is a waxy substance derived mainly from the wool of sheep, used in nearly all types of cosmetics. Though the production seems innocent as a natural by-product, lanolin is a major industry of its own, relying directly on mass-produced wool, which means genetic modifications, mulesing, poor living conditions and slaughter.

Carmine- CI 75470, cochineal extract, natural red 4- few names describing natural red dye used in various cosmetics which adds colour vibrancy, longevity and shade intensity. Boiled, dried and crushed female cochineal insects- in short.
The ingredient can also be found in food! 🤢

Beeswax- Bee-consciousness 🐝

Beswax is a building substance honeybees use to make walls of the cells where they store honey and pollen and raise their offspring. It is a prevalent compound with dozen commercial uses, which make the bees victims of unnatural living conditions, genetic manipulation, stressful transportation and death.
