Evenings and Saturdays are filling up in advance. If your able to I’d recommend booking ahead to make sure you get the right time slots to suit.

It’s a great way to plan out your haircuts and saves any last minute rush. Those who already do this swear by it. Get on top of your appointments to avoid missing out.

I’ll be making slight amendments to my working hours. This will mean more evening slots and longer hours on a Saturday. So keep an eye out for those changes.

Classic skin fade crop style for long time regular

As much as the more alternative styles and longer hair are haircuts I love to do. You can’t beat a staple haircut like the skin fade.

It’s a look that when done right on the right hair type looks clean, smart with easy maintenance. Simply style with a paste, clay or powder. On this I used the clay pomade.

For years I struggled with believing that insta and other social media platforms were the only way to be successful.

Over time this became a drain on my own self confidence because I wasn’t getting the right “exposure” and comparing myself to others I couldn’t shake it. I felt likes, shares and the opinions of this app decided if I was good or not.

But about 18 months ago after some time looking into my own mental well-being and self confidence issues I realised that actually this wasn’t a healthy way of looking at my job.

What I’ve discovered since taking away that stress is that I’ve grown my client base, an improvement in my work and also importantly my own mental health has improved.

Because I’m now focusing on the real connections I have in the studio with real people and creating bonds with clients.

Team that with more of a desire to improve my own skill set rather than look at other peoples work with bitterness. I’ve noticed a significant change in my own ability.

Now I can appreciate there’s a market for barbers on social media and it’s a great way to build a client base. And creating things for here is a fun way to express yourself and show what you can do…

But i guess what this whole ramble comes down to is…

Focus on yourself, create how you want to create, build bonds and relationships with your real life clients and if a post doesn’t do well here, the people that matter won’t care.
