This is a personal one and harder to share than I thought 🤦🏼‍♀️

About a year and a half ago, something wild started happening to my body.
I gained 10kg out of nowhere. My hair started falling out in clumps.
I had no energy, constant pain, horrific periods, awful skin — and a face that looked like a puffer fish.

I went to the GP looking for answers and was brushed off.
So, I told myself maybe this was just part of getting older 🤷🏼‍♀️

I decided to get a PT thinking atleast that will help me drop the weight but I didn’t know that she would be the person to validate that maybe something wasn’t right and support me in my search of answers. I joined my now safe haven

Why am I sharing this on a lash page?
I’ve worked with women everyday for the last 9 years and once I opened up about how I had been feeling I realised it’s not just me who is going through this. In this process I’ve been asked multiple times by doctors if I thought maybe this was in my head? And only once by the doctor would changed my health - How do I feel?

Did you know? It was only in 1993 that women were required to be part of clinical trials which goes to show how much we don’t know about women’s bodies. We aren’t just small men.

I wanted to be a doctor before but now I’m passionately pursuing getting into university to study biomedical science for this reason. Hopefully until then I can find a way to help anyone feeling the same way I did. I’m just figuring out how 🫶🏻
